Last year or the year before we saw "Big Bad Wolf" infront of the castle along with a number of other villians.

Technically, it was the year before that Big Bad was out with the other villians.

He didn't come out for sets at last year's party.

We went to the party this past Friday. I have to say, I will never again shell out nearly $200 for a special events party.

For one thing, the Halloween decorations (the blow up Stitch, Octopus, etc) were already out at 4:30 pm when we entered the parks. They are kind of neat to see--however, anyone that didn't have a party ticket could see them as well. Also saw lots of people without wristbands wandering around after 7:00. Cm's were doing a great job not letting them getting on rides and collect candy, BUT it really clogged up the walk-ways having party people and non-party people milling around.

Character meet and greets were a joke. It poured down rain most of the night, so many of the characters were not out. We saw NO characters at all in Fantasyland (no Snow White and dwarves:sad1: ), Liberty Square, or Frontierland. The only characters at ToonTown were all in the Judge's Tent, which was PACKED. We didn't even attempt to wait in line there. We did meet Abu and Genie at Adventureland, which was neat. They were "taking turns" with Jasmine and Aladdin. IMHO, there's no reason they can't have more chars out at a special event party instead of having them take turns. Also at Adventureland was some sort of Bear. Never once saw Captain Jack, and we walked through Adventureland twice.

With the exeption of the Toontown treat trail--which they closed down by 8:00 because of the rain---the treat stations were also kind of a joke. Only 1-2 treat stations per land, with long lines at all of them. Again--as much as tickets cost--I expected a few more treat areas.

So, basically in the 3 1/2 hours we were there we each got a little bag of candy (and this was after going through many of the treat stations twice) and got to meet Genie and Abu. If we ever go back during Halloween time again, I think we'll just plan on being in the park until 7:00--that way we can see the decorations "for free" and head to a different (hopefully more empty) park. We did want to see the parade, but the 8:00 one was cancelled because of the rain. I never heard if they had the 10:30 one or not. There were a lot of people complaining on the bus ride back to the resort; one man said he stood in line and got his money back.

Pictures are fine (autographs a little better). Am glad to hear about all the villians & the dwarfs.

I know that Pain & Panic are in the parade. Are they also out for photos? What about the Hitchhiking Ghosts? Are any of the Brer characters available in Frontierland?

Pain and Panic do not come out for autographs during the parties, as do the ghosts. None of the Brer characters are out during the parties, but Brer Bear and Brer Fox can been seen in Frontierland during the day.

For the characters, there are no characters out in Liberty Square during the parties (at least there were not last year). Same goes for Frontierland. The 7 Dwarfs and Snow White will not come out at all if it rains. It's unfortunate. As for Aladdin/Jasmine changing with Abu/Genie, they have always done that. Even at P&P and MVMCP that is what they do.

Need I remind you that the key word at Disney is "CHANGE"?

Just because they weren't out last year doesn't mean they won't be out this year.

Let's just wait and see, okay?

Joanna71985: Last year at the party, we met Jesse and Bullseye in Frontierland inside the Diamond Horseshoe. It was my first time meeting Bullseye!!!!! He is SO cute!!!! :cool1:

At nite before the Hallowishes parade all the villains come out in front of the castle.

Last year I saw them come out and screamed to my husband to watch the baby, I did a flying leap over the heads of children waiting to see the parade and was the first one to see the evil queen! She is my hero!

I was just a wonderful time. We also saw Alice and the queen of hearts on the candy walk.

Hope you have a great time and we will be there soon!

ROFL this cracked me up! :rotfl2:

I was at the MNSSHP last Friday (Sep 14) also, and it was miserable. The rain/lightning pretty much shut everything down. Also, there were streams of water 2 to 3 inches deep running throughout a lot of the Magic Kingdom. As to characters, last year they had a trail with Jungle characters, including Tarzan and Jane, in Adventureland. They don't have that this year, they just had Timon and Rafiki out. Hook and Smee were by Pirates (which was broken down at least during the first part of the party), Genie/Abu were also out. No Jack Sparrow. Also, last year they were doing pictures by the Haunted Mansion hearse that showed a "ghost" in them, they are not doing that this year. Also, last year they had Halloween-style bags...this year the bags were promotions for the DVD releases of Ratatouille and Pirates 3. It's hard for me to really make a good judgement call because the rain shut so much down, but the few things I did see indicated they were doing less than last year. Also, the only candy I got were generic gummy hot dog things, which I just threw out. I did check at Customer Relations before leaving, the CM said that they would let you exchange your ticket for another date, or that you could use it for a one-day entrance into the Magic Kingdom over the next year, but nothing about getting money back. Since I was leaving the next day for Pennsylvania, that didn't really help. I went to MNSSHP last year and really enjoyed, but this year the weather basically shut everything down (indoor rides were still open, but of course the lines were huge). I really hope people going to other parties have better weather.

I know, he is adorable!! I got to work with him once during MVMCP, and it was great.

Wow i hope that it was the rain that prevented all the characters to stay inside and not disney cutting corners.

Me too, there was all this hipe before the party, as in Jack and Barbossa both being out for meet and greets, etc. I am hoping that the rain just got the best of Disney and they weren't sure what to do, I will be curious to read new character reports from this Friday.:)

Jack and BARBOSSA?!?!?!?!??!?! Woah!!! This is big news, if it's true!!!! I've met Jack on DCL, he was great, but I think Barbossa would be even better. PLEASE, if anybody has any info from last night's party on this, please share!

I'd love to see Barbossa, my fav character along with Tia Dalma, and then Jack, from Pirates! I'd love to see Tia and Davy be characters too.

Does Barbossa have Jack the Monkey with him?

How about Nightmare Before Christmas, any of those characters ever out?

Thanks! Sally, Jack & Ooogie and maybe the Mayor will probably show up one day, they'd be great additiions to MNSSHP. I'm hoping to find some Zero the dog stuff down there as I hear they sell alot of NBX stuff now.

How about Pain & Panic? I heard they're rare to see, but maybe during Halloween since they're villains, they'll show up....!

They are only in the parade (if they are in the parade this year).
