i've never ever seen a character in epcot, except at the garden grill and princess breakfast... but i've heard rumor of a "character caravan" that arrives at a certain time each day (WHEN?! WHERE?!)... i've also recently read of a meet/greet for visa card holders (i am one! tell me more!)... rumor has it that there are characters in the world showcase countries (been to every one, never saw any!)... any other character sightings?

please, do tell... where to find characters in epcot... we've been there multiple times on each trip, yet never a character to be seen... how can i possibly miss them every time?! and how to find them this time?! :confused3

Ok, start out by getting a map of Epcot, look on the map for all the "character meet and greet" symbols, they can be very hidden in each country in the World Showcase. The characters we saw in Epcot were, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Aurora, Snow White, Pinochio, Gepeto, Jasmine and Alladin, Pooh and friends and Jiminy Cricket. And yes there is a parade bus that comes around with a lot of the characters aboard, I remember seeing it, but forget what time that was, I believe it was late afternoon.

Good luck.

They tend to be more in the Countires. They have the caravan bus that has (I think) the 2 stops, one near the walkway where you can go left to Mexico or right to Canada. The other is over near Japan (I think). You can catch most of them near the country they are from. Snow white & dwarfs in Germany, Aladin & Jasmine near Marocco. Bell, the Beast & sometimes, Cinderella & Aroura in France. Pooh & friends in the United Kingdom..... I know there are some other spots too, just can't remember them all. There was a meet & great just next to MouseGear's under that awning. Hope this helps

Last year when we were at Epcot, we saw more characters than anywhere else. We happened to buy ice cream right at the entrance of world showcase when the caravan bus pulled up. Saw Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale together, Pluto (not enough time to get his picture), Donald, and maybe a few others... Then as we went around the countries we saw a bunch more. Mary Poppins in England, Beauty and the Beast together in France, as well as Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Snow White in Germany, and the Genie in Morocco.

The bus and stops is listed in the Epcot showtimes guide available when you go in the park. About 8 characters ride and get off and lines forms. There will be a few CMs waiting for it to come--if you ask them, they can tell you where Mickey and Minnie will go. The others are kind of random. Each character has a handler, and children can go from character to character as long as there's time--generally about 15 minutes.

The bus comes about 6 times during the day to different locations--only once in Japan on the other side of the WS, as of last week.

The characters in the countries aren't all listed, and come out in the afternoons. They go in when it rains, so around 2 is a good time to try. We saw Mulan and Mushu "hidden" in China, and Geppetto and Pinocchio in Italy, and Dopey and Doc, I think, in Germany. The Aladdin characters have a stated spot in Morrocco, along with spots in UK for Mary Poppins or Pooh characters and France for Beauty/Beast

well, i think you've answered my question... it's the time of day that's key... we've only ever been to epcot in the morning and at night... rarely (if ever!) in the afternoon... that may explain why we've never seen a character... we've always toured world showcase as soon as it opens (touring counter-clockwise)... i guess we'll have to adapt our touring plan in order to catch some characters this time... it will be a great surprise for the kids 'cause they have come not to expect to see any there! LOL!

I was just at EPCOT last week and these are all the characters I noticed were out and about:

Characters on Holiday Bus: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Baloo, Rafiki, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Gideon, Prince John, Friar Tuck, Mr. Smee, Terk, Mary Poppins
Outside Living Seas: Nemo
Imagination Pavillion: Figment
France: Belle, Princess Aurora
Morocco: Genie
Italy: Pinocchio, Geppetto
Germany: Snow White, Dopey
China: Mulan
(There's usually also characters in the UK and by Mission: SPACE but I wasn't in those areas when they were out)

Here's a site that usually has all the times and locations for the characters:

Epcot is one of your best bets for pictures! The Genie will chase you! You'll have Snow White to yourself! Epcot provides the perfect backdrops for these pictures. My current screensaver is a picture of my girls with Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. We found them at the back of the UK building. They stood in front of a very cute painted background. I don't think you can get them together so easy anywhere else. In fact we only had one shot left in our camera at AK and the handler wouldn't even let two of those characters stand together even though nothing was separating them and the line wasn't long. We had a lot of rude AK CM that day. I think the character caravan comes around a few times a day - the first time around 10:00 or 11:00. We were surprised by it the first time and now plan around it each trip!

Here ya go!!! Characters on Holiday!!! (May 2004) :goodvibes

Yeap! Just check the times on the guides, they're normally out by Spaceship earth just when the park open, then later around 10:30AM.

They also go to China during the day.

Hiya

Was at Epcot last tuesday. Got there in time for rope drop which was (and almost always is) aided by a bus full of characters. After the countdown the bus stops at the fountain and everyone gets off for photos & autographs for about 15mins.
