Just wondering how often do you run across the characters? Ive seen pictures of autograph signing and stuff.. Do they have certain characters in different places throughout the cruise??

We just got back from WDW on Monday and this was my youngests first trip and she really got into the autograph signing and I really want to do a disney cruise and figure this will be a big thing for her..

What can you tell me?? What are the characters you see??

TIA

there are set times and places but they pop up everywhere at anytime! we've encountered them walking down the hallways, hanging around the pool (captain hook was startleing the kids coming down the slide :sunny: ), in the kids clubs... it is truly like the commercials and the promo video.

Just to add to the above questions......I know the Passporter mentions that Donald Duck is on board. How often is he available at the character meets? He seems to be listed only seldom if never in the other sources I have read.

My DS  loves  Donald Duck and we want to find him as much as possible! Thank you. :flower:

THere is a certain number (think P A L S) you can phone daily, and they will give you the times and places that the different characters will be at throughout the day..I did see Donald quite a lot.. :goodvibes

You can look in your Navigator for character times and also they have it on tv and in the lobby/atrium. Donald is the one my DD wanted to see and she was thrilled to see him several times. He was also available at CC.

In the main lobby on the ship (Level 3 Mid) is a monitor that scrolls who will be where when. It is very handy. And I think there was a station on the TV that listed them also, but not all day. We usually saw him around the 7:00 hour.

Enjoy our trip!!!! pirate:

Characters also line the walkways to castaway cay too. The times are in the morning and listed in your navigator paper. The also appear throughout the day in the gazebo near Cooke's BBQ. The lines are short as most people are dashing to get a chair on the beach. This is a great time to stop for pictures and autographs.

With all the kiddos onboard is it difficult to get to see the characters? I figure there are so many kids onboard and just wondered how long of a wait does it normally take..

I never saw much of a line, but there always seemed to be someone around. My kids were older (a month short of their 13th and 17th birthdays), and other than the Character Breakfast, had no desire to see them.
I gather it changes from cruise to cruise, but the Disney originals (the one's in the first Disney cartoons) Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip and Dale seem to be everywhere.
Never saw Donald Duck, but did chuckle that one of the entrees the first night was duck.

Just got off the Aug Repo and my grandchildren had pillow cases signed by all the characters. Maybe someone else can confirm, but I think my daughter turned in two pillow cases to guest services at the beginning of the cruise and they took care of it for her. The kids got them the last night of the cruise.

I did this on the May Repo cruise and my pillowcases were waiting for me on our bed on the last night of our cruise.

Hi Bettyann29,
The longest lines are for the princesses. Your navigator and reader boards in the atrium will tell you when and where and who for seeing the characters.
The best way to not wait in a long line is to show up 15 minutes early. If you are way back in a line the odds are they characters will of gone back inside before you get there, so be a little early and you wont have a problem. The only really long lines are for the princesses. The little girls just love them. Also please not that some times it's no autographs, pictures only. The rest of the time it is ok for pictures and autographs. There are several greetings everyday. The first and the last day are the worst for lines. most do move quickly, especially when it's picrures only. When they have a character on deck 9 (family pool) in the gazebo, I have never seen more than 2 or 3 people in line, even for mickey. Most are playing in the pool and dont even notice them. Also in the terminal they often have a character appear for pictures and autographs by the model ship in the center of the room, so keep an eye open for that. Lines are short and move quickly. The best place for us was on Castaway Cay they have characters in a few places along the walkway and in front of the post office. The time is listed in your navigator, I believe it was around 9 or 9:30. Most families are in such a hurry to get to the beach that they dont stop for characters. This is when I do my pictures with the characters as there are no lines, and what people are there move on very quickly as they want to get to the beach area. Also the characters appear randomly in the gazebo near the family beach. Sometimes you'll have 12 or 15 people ahead of you, but the lines seem to move along very quickly. I guess because there are so many more things to do on CC.
Have a great trip!

I agree with what one poster said about the lines being long for the princesses. i know a lot of you wouldnt do this since your little princess are younger but after breakfast the one morning i left my grandma up at breakfast so i could get in line for the princesses i love them especially belle. (was 19 at the time) but even by the time my grandma joined me 15 minutes later i was still way back in line and they hadnt even come out yet. but i still got really great pictures taken by shutters. (some of my favorite pictures since i hadnt gotten my hair done yet that wasnt what i thought it would look like on me.)

Does any one know if the characters (all of them) are decked out for the holidays, specifically Christmas, or is it business as usual?

domiii,
On the ship last year they were in holiday clothes a lot of the time amd Goofy is Santa. If you watch on CC he rides around the lagoon on a jet ski in his santa outfit. The evening photo sessions in the atrium the characters do dress up nicely. Some like Donald and chip and dale wear colorful scarves and hats. Smoetimes Pluto has antlers on with jinglebells and of course Mickey and Minnie are more formally dressed for the holidays.
