Do the characters stop in? I know there are meet and greets around the ship, but my kids have seen commercials and think Captain Hook is gonna play with them:)

And...we have kids with food allergies...is food allowed in the Oceaneers Club? Do they have snack or anything like that??

Thanks in advance. pirate:

We were on the MR cruise on March 19 and had a 7 year boy who would have lived in the Clubs if he could have.

Yes, food is in there because if he was in there at lunch or dinner time they would bring in meals for the kids.

Yes, Characters show up at different times throughout the cruise. They are labeled on the Navigator as things like "Pluto's Pajama Party", "So You want to be a Pirate" (Captain Hook was there), and even "Ratatouille Cooking School" (they made cookies with Chef Gustauv, one of ours son's favorite times).

They also have a great event called "Friendship Rocks" on our last day at sea. The kids who are in the Lab and Club get shirts then they go the the Walt Disney Theater and get to perform on the stage with their counselors and Mickey and Minnie. They actually send you a text on your wave phone in case you forget so that you can go watch your child. So cute!!

I hope that helps. There are so many more but these are the one's he was able to attend.

Yes to the characters and yes to the food. One thing we were not aware of prior to cruising last week on the Fantasy is that all other activities stop for the block of time when dinner is being served so if your child is not eating they are required to quietly entertain themselves. Our kids had sign out priviledges and signed themselves out at meal times.

There is no show such as Friendship Rocks on the Fantasy.

are the kids allowed to have camera's in the club to take pictures of the characters that make appearances. I now adults aren't allowed in and i would love to have some pictures with the kids.

The character interactions don't last for the entire time block set aside for that activity. For example, the March with Mickey/Mouskateer training activity I took DD to years ago had the kids learn to march in a line and give high-fours for a bit with the YCMs to prepare for Mickey showing up. Mickey then came out and everyone showed him how they made mouse ears [fists on the top of their head], they all marched around the club then sat down and Mickey came around to everyone and gave them each a high-four. When this was done all of the kids who participated took a group picture with Mickey that was used at the show at the end of the cruise. They don't let the kids take individual pictures with the characters during this time or get autographs. On the other hand, DS was in the Edge last cruise and always had his camera with him, but the characters do show up at the Edge & Vibe and interact with the kids there a little less structured. He does has some pictures of him with characters there. Minnie showed up one day and played bowling on the Wii with the kids there.

I also wanted to add that just like the Fantasy, there is no Friendship Rocks on the Dream either (or any similar program). That was one of my dd's favorite things on the Wonder, so she was very disappointed on the Dream.

A quick note on the food allergies. When you register the kids for the clubs make sure you indicate an allergies to food. They will make sure they do not come in contact with the foods that will cause a reaction. They always ask during registration.

Do not allow your child to take anything to the programming that you would be unhappy if it didn't come back! Your child will be responsible for it (not the CMs), and most kids can get distracted easily...things can get lost.

Food--only during specified times. As above, be sure to list the allergies. The CMs are super vigilant about this serious matter.
