Hi! I'm sorry if the answer to this question is posted elsewhere, but I'm relatively new to all of this and I haven't been able to find it.

If you have an outdoor reception in Epcot (we're seriously considering the french terrace area), are you able to have characters at the reception? I know they aren't permitted at the dessert parties, but I haven't found any info specifically about at receptions.

Has anyone done this? Do you know which characters are available to choose from? (I'd love to have the mice from Cinderella! :-)

Thanks for your help!

I am having a reception at French Island, and I haven't been told by my WC that we couldn't have the characters.

Maybe someone who has actually already had their wedding can give more feedback on this.

I think it depends on the timing. If its after the park is clear of guests, around 10:30, they may allow characters at outsidoor events.

I don't know if this is an option or not, it really depends on the location, Disney is really strict about themeing so for example Mulan could not show up in the UK but Mary Poppins or Alice could. You would need to ask your wp for specifics.

I don't think that I have been to any event at Epcot where there were characters while non-wedding guests were around. I went to a fabulous one at MGM that was held after closing where we had chip and dale, and mickey. Fabulous event. I agree to check with your WP as they will have a better idea. I also agree that there are themeing issues as Disney protects their characters from being in a place where they should not be. Also, there are rules about characters and alcohol.

Thank you so much for your replies! I will be sure to ask my WP and will be keeping my fingers crossed that at least something can be worked out, even if its not the exact characters I'd want! :-)

I was told by Joe that the only way characters are allowed in the parks for private events is if the park has cleared. We were originally looking at the Isola in the evening, but opted against it when we found out that characters would not be allowed until late.
