How does this actually work: Do you stand in one line, with everyone else, then go from one set to another? Or do you choose which character you want to start with, then go to the next one you want?

Each character or character pair has their own line--they are all spread across a large room. You just get in line for who you want. The lines are shorter than most, since there are usually several and the average park goer doesn't know about it. You can do as many as four or five in one 25 minute set on a good day.

Is it really 3 sets for an 8:00 F! and 2 sets for an 8:30...or is that backwards? F! starts at 8:30 on our night. Also, do the 20 min sets run back to back without any break?

Humm. I think this info is correct. I got it from this board several months ago and put it in my planning spreadsheet. Our F! always starts at 8:30 and we always have 2 sets(although I do not think I have ever timed them). They do happen back to back.

IT would be the building at back of courtyard. There is big blue building with bathrooms located to left as you look at building Disney jr is located to right. This where the big store that sells prints/drawings etc if you go thru store there is area with showcases of oscars, upcoming movie drawings etc. lower level is where sorcerer Mickey meets and greets and there is things to do on computer screens.

I caught two of the sets tonight. Gepetto & Pinocchio, Stitch, Belle, Snow/Evil Queen, Hook & Smee, Chip & Dale, Pocahontas & Meeko, Mary Poppins & two penguins, VIPs (Goofy, Minnie & Pluto). Not sure if there were more character sets; we sort of hopped in and out.

The last time I stopped by, sometime last month I think, we saw a lot of the same characters above, plus Aladdin & Genie, Jafar, Mulan, and one of the Einsteins.

On Saturday we saw:
Set 1: Mary Poppins & Penguins, Minnie & Goofy, Hook & Smee, Meeko, Max
Set 2: Pluto, Belle (Blue dress), Stitch, Chip & Dale

On Sunday we saw:
Set 1: Pinocchio, Hook & Smee, Mulan, Penguin, Pluto, Minnie, Belle
Set 2: Meeko, Goofy, Stitch, Jasmine, Chip & Dale

Last time were there we saw Stitch, Meeko and Pochahontas, Rafiki, Mary Poppins and a Penguin, Jafar, Pinocchio and Gepeto.

So our next trip is scheduled for Nov 27 - Dec 4. With Fantasmic scheduled for 630pm each night, does that mean there will be no characters at the animation building?

Yep. The regular daytime characters will be there. But no extra characterpalooza sets. I was crushed last year when they made Fantasmic nightly again for this reason. I considered another time of year so we could catch Characterpalooza this year, but it's just not working out. We're out of luck again.

Probably not, outside of the usuals Sorcerer Mickey, Pooh, and the Incredibles.
