Has anyone been to the Disney Character Warehouse in Orangefair mall? I drove by it today, but couldn't stop because of other obligations. What does it sell? How is it compared to a Disney mall store? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the drive or not. Thanks!

The Disney Character Warehouse is a hit and miss thing. Sometimes they have a great many things of interest. Sometimes they do not. Then again.. "one man's treasure is another's junk" I think it is worth a try at least once. I have gotten some nice things in the store. Right now I bet they will have some christmas 2005 stuff from the parks. I go to the parks quite often and have recognized a lot of stuff sold in the parks. Good luck!

I havent been to the one in the mall yet, but there is one not far from the park that is really good, though I havent been to that one in about a year or so.

It's always worth a stop. People are looking for different things and for different people of different sizes and people have different tastes. The selection is pretty good most times, great at times and just ok at others.

They sell a lot of clothing, usually all sizes, older Disneyland Resort and discontinued items. But a lot of the clothing seems to be kids stuff. About 60% i'd say.
It sells Disney Halloween costumes before and after Halloween, Grad Night stuff (usually by mid summer after the park rush on it), New Years stuff, some Disneyana merchandise but really they have very little in the glass case as you first walk in as far as Disneyana items and collectibles go.

The Character Warehouse sells some plush at times, some pins and keychains, some postcards and cheaply priced fun knick knacks items (charms, magnets, plastic toy items), a few books from time to time, some Princess and other discontinued glittery and/or fiber optics items, hats, towels, Haunted Mansion 'figures playsets' (they seem to have a lot of them), various other toys and some park specific items....

I have bought several Disneyland 'toothpick holders' (AKA shot glasses) at the Character Warehouse this past year.. California Screamin' & Tower of Terror (Condemned design) at 1.99, 2.99 respectively (which is much cheaper than Disneyland prices)...

Over the years I have actually bought all of my Haunted Mansion Holiday shirts (2001-2004) at the Character Warehouse and they were only $7 each.

It's worth a trip from Disneyland when someone is in town... and always worth a stop if you are driving by.

The above link used to have a coupon (still might) that you could print out for an additional 10% off at the Character Warehouse and that site also lists some other Character Warehouse locations, some permanent and some temporary.

Thanks everyone :thumbsup2 I knew I could get a good answer on this board. I don't think I'll make a special trip to the store, but I'll make sure to stop next time I'm nearby. DD turns 4 soon. Sounds like I could find some great princess items. We don't care if things are dated from last year as long as it contains a princess, Minnie, or sparkles.

We stop there every time we're at DL. As everybody says, hit and miss but I always manage to leave with something in my hand.

There seems to be an awful lot of baby clothes.

I told some friends about the place and when they went down last fall, they had Goofy's Kitchen beanies (Goofy in his Chef outfit) for $4.

Where is it and how would you get there from the park? We are staying at the Sheraton Anaheim.

Make sure to give them your email address because I just got a 10% off my next purchase for our store in Vegas :yay:

Orangefair Marketplace
243 Orangefair Mall
Fullerton, CA 92832
714-870-9363

North up Harbor Blvd.
Right (East) on Orangethorpe Ave.
Disney's Character Warehouse is in the shopping center on the right hand side, on the far North-East end, past Dollar Tree and actually much closer to Lemon Ave. than Harbor Blvd.

It seems I'm not allowed to post a simple Mapquest or tiny Mapquest link.. :confused3
So I wish you good luck on your finds and the Char Ware! :)

We have this store in our mall, but it is only there a few months out of the year. It has tons of Disney stuff and some is very well priced (really low) and other stuff is only about 10% off. Before we went to WDW last month, I bought DD a Mickey t-shirt for about $3 and one for me for about $8. DH got 2 very nice golf shirts (polo type shirts) with a small Mickey and a small Goofy on them and he wears them all the time (about $15 each, regularly $44).

Our store also has non-Disney stuff, like plain Khaki pants and other clothing and some porcelain dishware. I find that usually each clothing thing is only one size. So if you see a cute t-shirt you want, they are usually all the same size and if you wear that size, Great! Otherwise, too bad.

I wouldn't make a special trip from DL to go to this store, but that's just me.

Last fall we bought a bunch of great stuff there! I do like to make a trip to the store if I have a vehicle.
I did see a 20% off coupon available at the Anaheim Visitors Centre. Unfortunately, I didn't see it until after our shopping trip so only got the 10% others have mentioned.
Next time, I'll go to the visitors centre first!
If anyone knows if the coupon is still available there, it would be helpful to post!!

I was there this past Sunday and got sweatpants 1/2 off the parks price and T-shirts for $5. The $50 jackets the park sells are about $25-30. I got a Chicken Little stuffed pig for $2 (normally $12). It's different things every time we go, but always end up spending about $100!

Where is the Anaheim Visitors Center in relation to the Disneyland Resort?

YES, IT IS WORTH A STOP :cheer2: . LAST TIME I WAS THERE ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO I FOUND THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB 50TH ANNIVERSARY BRACELET AND NECKLACE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED LAST OCTOBER BUT NEVER MADE IT FOR THE EVENT :confused3 . THEY ARE REALLY NICE. I ALSO PICKED UP FOUR NEW WATCHES, EVERYTHING WAS ALMOST HALF PRICE AND I HAD AN INTERNET 10% OFF COUPON TOO :cool1: ! I BOUGHT SHIRTS FOR THE GRANDKIDS AND OTHER SOUVENIR ITEMS AS WELL :grouphug: . I LOVE GOING THERE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND!

Last weekend we visited the Character Warehouse in Las Vegas. It is really hit or miss. There was plenty of Disneyland 50th Anniversary merchandise.
