Character Warehouse opening 1/4 at Supermall, WA

Just got home and shopped till I dropped! WHOO!

Got "Dreams Come True" light up ears for all of us, gold glitter mouse ears on headbands for DD and I, pink princess ears for DD, POTC ears (plus dreds, LOL! for DH) a bazillion different hats for DD and I, a wonderful Mickey windbreaker for DH (only 21.99!!) - got 4 pins for trading at 4.49 each, several cute shirts for DD, some popcorn buckets, some travel coffee mugs...

SUH-weet!

Lancaster, Ca just got one and I went on one of the first days it was open, since it is minutes from my house!

I got Pirate Mickey Ears for $3ish and I got some of the 50th anniversary dessert plates that were sold only with meal purchases for $3-$4 each.

Lots and lots of clothing and other goodies all at pretty decent prices.

Woo! I'm so excited!!

One thing that I'm hoping they have is this brown DCA hoodie pullover sweatshirt. It has the Sunwheel logo on it and Mickey, Stitch and Kermit and some other things. They had them at DCA in October and when I went back in December they were all gone and they replaced them with new DCA stuff. I'm crossing my fingers they have them at the outlet since I'm pretty sure they didn't sell out.

I went today and didn't think it was worth the drive. :( If you want clothes, there were a ton, but most of the cute stuff was for little girls and I have boys. Also, they wer out of the light up ears (they had a few that were broken) and pretty much the only other ears they had were the pirate ones and gold ones. I did end up getting 2 shirts and a book.

Oh drat.

There sure was a ton for girls and women, wasn't there????

Did they still have the 50th anniversary golden ears? DS has decided he wants the pair we got for keepsaking-purposes, but gosh I hate going to the stupidmall for just that reason. Oh yeah, just got an old navy giftcard, could go there as well...

I went to the Character Warehouse at the Great Mall of the Bay Area today (Milpitas). They still have tons of the gold ears on a headband available.

Also, I talked to the clerk and she mentioned that the store is going to move. It was supposed to be a permanent store, but the lease is coming up and it doesn't look like they are going to renew. She thinks they are going to move to another location, but doesn't know where.

Dh and i were there today too. Not too sure if it was worth the 30+ mile drive either. We did manage to buy a baseball hat, a 2008 ornament and 4 coffe mugs. There were lots of kids clothes. I was bummed that there were no jerseys of any sort. The Burlington/Mt vernon outlet usually has 2-5 different jerseys in the past, but this time there was nothing.

does anyone know if there are princess and cars stuff? DD will be turning 1 this month and her party theme is disney princess...but i'm giving out cars stuff for the boys at the party.

...regardless, i already told DH that i wanted to go there within the next couple of weeks. to make our trip worthwhile (from lynnwood) we'll probably stop by in tacoma to have some yummy hawaiian food at our cousin's restaurant! :)

Yes, they have tons of golden ears. The only princess and cars stuff I saw was mostly clothes. A couple of princes type basebally hats. Not really party favor type stuff, though.

Well, it's all so personal ya know?

I noted the drastic lack of clothing for boys (and men), but it didn't bother me. I wasn't there for clothing.

The lack of flashing ears would have been a disappointment for me, but I also might have just figured that the batteries had run out and bought a pair of possibly broken ones anyway.

We were more than happy with the pirate ears, pirate hair (don't know if that was there for the PP's visit), the golden ears (need to go back for another pair), and 79 cent popcorn buckets (mine from DCA holds scrapbook stuff, while hubby and son's outlet-purchased buckets hold things like playmobil guys and legos, LOL), which may or may not have been available for the PP.

What one sees as a motherlode another sees as slim pickings. That is what kept me from going to Burlington b/c there's nothing else up there for me to visit, and kept me from going to Portland b/c we couldn't afford the other stuff in Portland that would have made the trip worth it for us. This was close enough that it was worth it, but one must always do the cost-benefit analysis knowing that there might be nothing you want when you go.

LOL - this post cracked me up.

I drove down from Edmonds - took me an hour. I thought it was plenty worth it - I also got pirate ears and dreds (which look gorgeous on my DH, LOL!) and popcorn buckets and 70's coffee mugs. Got Dream ears (the flashers) glitter ears, head bands, princess ears, and tons of other stuff. There were a LOT of girl shirts and seemed like a fair amount of gender neutral youth stuff (fleece, sweatshirts, etc.)

I hope it cracked you up in a good way. :)

Edmonds...is it nice living up there? Always seems nice. And of course we're huge fans of Rick Steves and love it when we need a piece of luggage b/c we get to go there. :goodvibes
