Character Elements Swap
Sign-ups will close on Tuesday, February 16
Due date is April 17 (that is when I need to receive your package). Please mail packages out by April 1 to ensure they are received by me by the deadline.
If you are new to swapping with us please only sign up for 2 groups.
1. Pick the spots in the groups you would like and post that request. When making your request, please include the Group letter. There are a lot of groups and it will help me get you in the correct group. For each spot you choose, you are required to make 2 elements from the list below for each person in your group.
To make it easier to get you in a spot, you may want to list your 1st and 2nd choices (or you can say you want anything in Group **) for a group incase your first choice is already taken. I will be filling them first come, first served.
After sign-ups close, I will try to combine any groups that have less than 3 swappers.
2. Check-in Dates:
February 17 verify your groups & pm me your Disname, real name, address, e-mail and phone number (last resort if I cant contact you by other means).

April 10 Mail by date
If you miss a check-in, I will PM/email you. If I do not hear from you 48 hours after that, your spots will be angeled. If you are going to be away for a check-in, let me know.
For the April 3rd check-in, please be specific with your progress, and list the groups you still need to finish and an anticipated mailing date (If you have not mailed already). I want to have a good sense that you will be able to accomplish your groups on time, or if we are going to need angels.
If I am worried that you will not be able to finish by the deadline, I will contact you to see if we need to angel some, or all of your groups. If at any time, you realize you need to cut down on the number of groups, or need an angel for all your groups PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I know its hard to admit when we are in over our heads, and its more fun to receive all the pretty pieces, but there will always be more swaps.
3. Packaging: Place your completed elements in a Ziploc bag with your DISname, name and group letter. Do not address your items to a particular swapper. (That makes it harder for me to sort!) Your label should look like this

Take all of your baggies for a group and place them in GALLON size (or larger) bag, and label with the same. Please use the gallon bag (or larger) -- your items may fit in a smaller bag, but the items you receive back might not.
Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)
4. Mailing: You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after April 10. Then, you must mail Priority. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: Envelope or Small Box (9x6x2) - $4.95, Standard box $10.35, Large - $13.95.. However, if you want me to send by a different method, we can work that out. I wont require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER April 1. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.65, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.65.
DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.
5. Due Date: This swap is due APRIL 17, 2009. Your package should be in the mail by April 10. I intend to only wait one week for packages that have been delayed by our lovely postal system, before I swap out. If you mail, April 11 or later, you must send Priority and you must use DC so I can verify the shipment and keep tabs on its status. I know emergencies can happen, and those will be handled on a case by case basis
6. Elements: This swap requires 2 elements be made for each person in each group. Each element is to be embellished 2 ways. Here is a list of the elements you may choose from:
Please note:
Each item must be embellished a minimum of 2 different ways. Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, Primas (flowers), stickles, ribbon/fiber, stickers, ink, chalk, sewing, and embossing. If it looks weird trying to fit in another embellishment, another layer of paper beyond the double matting can be used
NO handwritten lettering on any items. Please use computer fonts, rub-ons, stickers or stamps.
Title = 1 per person: this can be a standard 8x2 topper, individual letters with a shadow at least 1 ¼ tall, letters on squares, circles, mini tags or other shapes. If you have questions, please ask. Be sure embellish 2 different ways.
Note: If you make a Title, you do not have to use the characters name as the title. You can also use a phrase or word(s) that relates to that character. Be creative! For example: If you are making a title for Tigger. Your title could be BOUNCY. Of if your character is Stitch, the title could be TROUBLE. Mickey = THE BIG CHEESE.
Restriction if you do a title, do not repeat your title choice. If you did your title on squares, you cant do more squares for your element.

There are a lot of groups since there are so many characters and I couldn't decide which characters to leave out. I made the decision to leave them all in and we'll combine groups after sign-ups if we only have a couple of people in some groups. The title for the groups doesn't dictate anything about the group and doesn't mean you have to create your pieces to coordinate with that group. Like if the group name is Animal Kingdom, you do not have to create your characters to look like they are in Animal Kingdom. I titled the groups to try to put like characters together, but mostly to help me. I found that having the groups named helps me in keeping things straight.
You will notice that I already have SusieStone marked down for 3 groups. Susie was in an MGM swap last year where her pieces were lost in the mail. She redid those pieces for that swap. The original box was later found by USPS and returned to her. These 3 groups that I have marked are ones that weren't in the DHS swap that 123SA is currently hostessing and we've added them to this swap. So, Susie is already ahead of the game because I have received her pieces!!!
