Hi ladies,

I wanted to do a little brainstorming for the upcoming character swap in January. I thought to do this one a little different than the way we've done them in the past. I wanted some opinions.I would like to structure it kind of how rlovew did the out of parks swap. Some Page kits, some elements.

I am going to have groups for Disney Characters as well as Pixar Characters.

Some groups have 1 character we all share and do separate elements and others have various characters.

Example: Cinderella Element:, we would get 6 different elements. No one in each group can sign up for the same element.

7 dwarves page kit: each person gets a dwarf

Also, What are some characters you all would like to see on the sign ups. I wanted to make sure we have specific characters as well as a mix. I have already started making mine:)

Characters I'd like to see: Some of these to embellish pages with. Just to name a few of the uncommon ones

The Princes: Phillip, Eric, Beast, Prince Ferdinand (The Prince), Prince Charming, Aladdin
Nightmare before Christmas Characters: Jack, Sally, Zero
Beauty & the Beast: Mrs.Potts, Chip, Beast, Belle,
Cinderella: Lady Tremaine, Fairy Godmother, Drizella, Anastasia
A Bug's Life:
Cars: Lightning Mcqueen, Mater,
Chicken Little, Fish out of Water, Abby Mallard
Brother Bear, Kenai, Koda
Disney Villains

Other ideas:
groups of characters by the areas you find them
Pooh and friends
little einsteins, handy manny, jojo's circus....playhouse disney
Brer Bear, Baloo, King Louie, Country Bears, and the Incrediables

Those are great ideas, Kat! I can't wait to sign up for this one!! Looking at your list, I kept thinking, "I want that one, and that one. . ." ;) I especially love the Nightmare before Christmas characters--I love that movie!

I like the idea of specific character groups (where everyone makes an element) and then kit groups with different characters--that sounds fun!

Marking my calendar for Jan 1st!! :thumbsup2

I like that idea also- sets of elements for the more popular characters would be great. I would also love to have the groups of characters by the areas you find them- which normally is also by movie but it would be nioce to have them grouped like that since some characters we will never see or use anything from and others we see all the time.

I like this idea also. Especially the single character with elements.

I'm being drawn in here! What about Pooh and friends? I know they do come up quite often, but they are very popular and easy to use on non-Disney pages (like baby pages - or I used Tigger for my DS(8)'s school bouncy fun day).

ETA and I love the villains idea! I saw a T-shirt in WDW with them on and wished I'd bought it

Cool ideas! I'm with SIOH, I kept thinking...yup, that one...and that one :lmao:

I am very interested in this swap regardless of how you decide to set it up! I would be interested in page kits, but only if the groups were already set up so you would know what you were getting. A page kit is a lot of work...I'd hate to get kits that I have no use for.

I like the idea of making groups devoted to theme and also groups devoted to one character.

Question: Is there any way you can eliminate duplicates? It kind of stinks when you sign up for 3 groups and then end up with 3 Pooh and 3 Mickey -- it's not that I won't use them or that I don't appreciate the work that went into it, but there are soooo many other characters. I set up the groups for the MGM swap and while it was a lot of work up front, it did eliminate doubles!

I agree, its nice not to have doubles of characters/elements (even though I have at least 3 books on the go at once :rolleyes1 ) I also like to know I'll be able to use the stuff sooner or later - I'm getting a lot more picky about what I sign up for (not that you'd notice :rotfl2: )

My goal is to eliminate the duplilcates on a majority of characters as well as get some of the characters I wish I had. I really really need filler.

For instance the nightmare before christmas characters, what a great filler and it's out of the norm so we would be able to use these on any page with a haunted mansion theme. The princesses are always popular but the Princes are always forgotten yet we see them in the parks as well.

I will also be doing a couple groups for Disney transportation.

I will be doing several groups with specific characters, so each person makes a certain element so we don't all get tags or journal boxes back ;)

I'd like little einsteins, handy manny, jojo's circus....playhouse disney group i guess!

I love the idea of one character with different elements. This would help me be more creative.

How about Brer Bear, Baloo, King Louie, Country Bears, and the Incrediables.
Just some ideas of characters I have pics with, but little scrap stuff.

Count me in too! I like the idea of knowing what you are getting and really liked how the MGM was done too, since we only due about 2/3 of the park due to DD not being up to some of the bigger rides. But however it works out I will be signing up for some.

We will be home from WA the night of the 31st so I will be able to sign up

Happy Holidays :santa: everyone, see you on the 1st!

)

Oh no, not transportation!:scared: I signed up for it in the fill in the gap swap and had to drop out due to lack of inspiration! The sad thing is I really need "transportation stuff". I am thinking I have a couple of weeks before sign up, so maybe I can come up with something! I am waiting for  , wish me luck!:teeth:

we are at WDW now. We saw Darby, the girl from Winnie the Pooh. She was out with Pooh and Tigger.

Ratatouille and Emile where out too,

and Leo and June from Little Einsteins and Handy Manny, they were both outside playhouse Disney.

Yeah, that's why I wanted to see her, too. . .just because she's one of your son's favorites. . .not because I have a Pooh stuff addiction. . .

Thanks for the save!!!

:rotfl2:

We just saw Darby, Manny and the ratatouille pair and the Einsteins and Mr. Incredible with Frozone (Mrs. Incredible was somewhere but we missed her!)...we were sooooo lucky to see Emile as we were the last in line and it was actually the awesome tag book that saved us! Initially the cast member was going to turn us away but I showed her the awesome Ratatouille pages and told her how long it took to put together and from all over the country too and she took pity on us and let us in! Then she also took the book (a few scary moments while I waited) and she got signatures for Captain Hook and Smee and also Mike and Sulley too (which is cool since I know my son would not go line up to see them - he'd be scared silly!) So I just wanted to say how cool it was to have the tag book there....and then I realized I need more tags for Darby, Manny and the Einsteins!!! So I'd definitely be up for those characters!

I was wondering on the page kits would what would you like to see. My idea was

Specify 1 character from the following films and create your page kit around that character. Please don't choose a character that is already spoken for. This will help to eliminate doubles

For example I choose The mice in Cinderella i would make my kits around the Mice and AWM creates all hers around Lady Tremaine, SIOH picks Lucifer so her elements are all about the naughty kitty.

I would love to do something with the dwarfs. My daughter loves them and can name each one at three years old. I can't do that at 36.
I think that having one person do one dwarf sounds great.
Count me in.
