Character Spot Questions

Didn't want to use a FP for this but was wondering how easy it is to see the characters without a FP? Specifically at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. And is Baymax always available at EPCOT?

The line for the character spot in Epcot gets long often. Baymax and joy and sadness always meet across the breezeway from the character spot but they don’t have fastpass.

Baymax is always at Epcot. As far as Character Spot there, it will probably save you more time than most Tier 2 FPs.

I reserved Epcot character spot at 60 days for our first park day and initially had trouble finding any morning or early afternoon FP. It was my third FP selection right at 7:00 EST (following FoP and FEA). I was able to modify a week later to a morning time. After seeing the line in January on a “slow” day I knew we needed FP for our May family trip.

Another option for the characters in AK is a meal at Tusker House which we are doing rather than using a FP for AK character meet.

I have FPs for the character meet and greets at EPCOT and AK. We're also eating at Garden Grill and Tusker House. Oh and it'll only be me and DD11, we like meeting characters and there wasn't anything else we wanted to use our FPs for on those particular days since those parks have tiering.

I’ve never used a FP for the character spot but I can tell you that Baymax took at least 30 min if not more and joy/sadness were about the same. This was in the morning on a lower crowd day.

We chose to RD Baymax/Joy & Sadness. Used the FP for the regular character spot. I think its a good use of a tier 2 FP at Epcot.

I've already booked my fast passes so if there's not one available later in the day, i'll just check the wait times and hope for the best!

There is no FP for Joy/Sadness or Baymax. They are stand by only. The FP is for Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy.
