I am the big kid in the family, all the children are grown and gone, so when we go to WDW I am the one in the character photos and so what if I have 10 autographs of Tigger this visit, this one may be more special. What are the thoughts of grown ups doing the character photos and autographs? This is our first cruise and need some etiquette lessons. I missed out on all the pre ticket meet and greet. We are on the Nov 7, 2016 4-night Very Merry Time Bahamian cruise, for our 25th Anniversary, any suggestions.

Go for it. There's no reason anyone, of any age, can't stand in line for photos and autographs. Seen lots of unaccompanied adults in those lines onboard.

We have done 3 Panama Canal cruises which have relatively few children on board, yet the lines for the character's are still there! Many adults enjoy the interaction with the characters...so much better than the parks. It is fun and no one cares if you are a child or a adult!:tigger:

I did them all on my cruise on the Wonder in May 2016, except for the Pixar Pals meet and greet because the only available time overlapped with an on-shore excursion.

I don't ask for autographs, but my only advice would be to enjoy it. I must admit, it was my first time meeting "face" characters and I tried to be as quick as possible so that I didn't hold up the line. But, I really should have taken my time because I went through all four princesses and the next person in line was still with the first princess whereas I'd been through all of them. I felt a bit bad about three princesses just standing there doing nothing. And I wish I'd taken more time to chat to them in-character.

I also wish I'd put more thought into character appropriate questions. I should have asked Belle to recommend a book. I should have asked Tiana about her new restaurant. I should have asked Ariel whether it was too cold for her to swim in the water. I should have asked Cinderella for some tips on talking to animals. Same for Anna and Elsa. The ... "friends" of the princesses do such a good job of maintaining their character that I wish I'd taken advantage of it.

The only other aspect is that I try to be accommodating to any children in line. I was first in line to meet Mickey Mouse, but the young boy behind me somehow thought that he would be the first to meet Mickey (I guess he didn't think an adult would be meeting Mickey). I offered to swap places so that he could be the first to meet Mickey, since it would be a more "magical" experience for him (but he got bored of standing in line and ran off to play anyway and his mother declined the offer).

I would expect everyone would be welcomed for a photo--it's Disney :) Enjoy! Side note-we will be the same cruise! also first timers!

I am Friends with some of the characters you will meet on board and I can say that we love meeting adults just as much as Children! Please do chat with us and ask for our autographs. We love it! Hope to see you soon!

My sister and I have no kids and cruise together on DCL. We do the character meets and on a couple crusies my sister has brought an autograph book and gotten autographs as well as pictures. We have had some great interactions and nobody has had an issue with adults being greeted. Plenty unaccompanied adults in the lines :-)
