Character Mistaken Identity!

We had a double-error mom on our last trip. They had just finished Chip and Dale at MGM's Big Hat and were looking around at the other characters out. Her first comment was, "Hey, let's go see Pluto"...okay well, that's really Goofy, but an easier mistake. The best part was her second comment. "Oh look, there's Tony the Tiger!" I'm just glad that poor Tigger wasn't within earshot. :)

I did the "look Tinkerbell!" thing for the Blue Fairy on Pinocchio's float. Which is ridiculous because I have seen the movie Pinocchio at least 50 times!

My grandmother was waiting for us this last trip while DD and I went in PoTC. When we came out she said "oh, one of the 7 dwarves were out here and he shook my hand and gave me a hug!" We were like "wow!" But then I was thinking "what was a dwarf doing in Adventureland?" We were getting ready to leave and she said "oh! There he is! With Captain Hook!" Turns out it was Mr. Smee LOL

Our last trip we searched and searched for Donald Duck. At animal Kingdom we saw who I thought was Daisy Duck, When I greated "her" I was corrected by "HIS" handler, "this is Donald Duck-a-saurus." How was I to know. OOOPS!

:confused3 Just a simple little suggestion, but maybe there should be a sign near the Character Greeting areas to tell who they are?
There seems to be a lot of confusion & embarassment, not to mention insulting the poor characters when they get called the wrong name!

A few years ago at DL I thought I looked pretty cute in my vibrant sundress and shocking I Love Lucy red hair. While riding the elevator at the Paradise Pier Hotel the woman next to me turned and exclaimed, "Wow! Which character are you!?!?!"

opps! :rotfl:

At MGM, a CM told me she liked my Pepe LePew pin...it was Flower...I was like come on, you work here, jeez.

We once did a meet & greet with Jane and she complained to us that the previous family thought she was Mary Poppins. It was funny; she totally went off in her British accent.

And finally, the one I will never live down:
Me: "Look, there's the fox from Robin Hood."
Boyfriend: "You mean, Robin Hood?"

I have one worse than calling Mickey "Pooh."

One of my 2 yo's favorite characters is Pooh. However, he can't say Pooh, he says "Poop". And, just my luck, he says it clear as a bell. I can't wait until October when we eat at the Crystal Palace.

LOL!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

DD was 5 the first time she went to WDW and kept calling Chip and Dale, "Chicken Dale".

The second time she went, she was 8 years old. We were coming out of AK one day and Chip and Dale were fooling around near the exit. DD was looking at Dale, but calling out "Chip!, Chip!). He pretended to ignore her....crossing his arms and turning his back to her! She realized what she was doing, and then called, "Sorry! I mean DALE!!!". He came running over to her and gave her a huge hug! :sunny:

We all now try to remember that Chip has the brown nose....like a chocolate chip!

I love that!

We have forever called Darkwing Duck by my son's name for him...Dorkwing Duck. :rotfl:

My DD15 on our last trip told Dopey that he was Dopey (she wasn't trying to be mean...it just came out) He got very sad and she hugged him and made it all better. She still talks about making Dopey cry...
