Character meet and greets Dos and Don'ts

Between taking too many pictures with 5 different cameras or talking the characters head off

Was wondering what everyone thought was poor etiquette when at a character meet and greet

Well for starters is it wrong to offer a tip, not necessarily to the character of course but to the cast member with them

Definitely don't tip! I would assume they are not even allowed to accept any tips.. trying to tip would just be uncomfortable and could get them in trouble

If I get a lot of interaction or if they help with advice , some times a just feel bad they are in the heat. It's weird because I feel I tip everyone else

One rule of etiquette is to try and not make others around you uncomfortable.

Don't feel bad, it is their job. As long as you're gracious and polite you are good to go... but please dont try to tip!! haha

Is it wrong to ask the characters to pose a certain way or should u just accept what they are willing to offer

No thats not necessarily wrong as long as its appropriate and not too physical.. and if they hesitate or ask to do something else then don't push it..

Definitely no tipping. If a cast member goes above and beyond to help you, get their name and go to guest services and tell them you'd like to put in a compliment for that person. There's some official name for that that escapes me at the moment but I believe those guest comments get put in the CMs file and might help with promotions and stuff.

If it is a character you have an extra special interaction with, take note of the character, time, and location and report it that way.

It's fine to kiss Mickey on the nose but for some reason if you try that with Elsa they get a little perturbed.

Can u have them wear an object , like a hat sunglasses or something


Can you wait on line twice to see them, is there a cut off

Some characters like tinker bell and Ariel are somewhat exposed , is it proper to hug them

Is kids kissing their characters on cheeks allowed

1- You can ask but most of the time they will say no, the attendant will usually tell you a time and place where you can wait to meet them
2- Not really, this could mess up their wigs/costumes I wouldnt try it
3- You can go through the lines however many times you like before it's closed
4- It's fine to hug them just be appropriate about it
5-It's allowed but ask before doing it.. I've seen some princesses say no to that before

Generally when a character is walking by, they are on their way to or from their meet and greet. So they are not technically "on" at that moment. And their handler usually makes that clear. You can snap a photo as they go by but don't try to interact with them or stop them.

One exception is the stormtroopers at DHS. Their appearance is them walking around and I have seen them stop and pose for pictures but be quick about it.
