Character Meals

I have been reading the official Disneyland website and searching posts on here. I couldn't find anything that clearly explained what meals were offered at each restaurant. I think I may have gotten it but can anyone who's been chime in and let me know if this is right:

Plaza Inn, DL, breakfast buffet

Ariel's Grotto, DCA, family style breakfast or lunch menu

Goofy's Kitchen, Disneyland Hotel, breakfast or dinner buffet

PCH Grill, Paradise Pier Hotel, breakfast buffet

Storyteller's Cafe, Grand Californian Hotel, breakfast buffet or menu

So 3 places only have characters at breakfast, Ariel's Grotto only breakfast & lunch, & Goofy's Kitchen would be the only 1 for dinner. Am I understanding correctly?

So of these, does anyone have recommendations? TripAdvisor shows Plaza Inn #2 in Anaheim so that seems like a no-brainer. I read some posts here that say do it a little after 10 on a Magic Morning. Any other recommendations for or against certain meals?

I may be wrong, but I think after June 15th Ariel's Grotto will have a Princess dinner. We really liked the characters at the Plaza Inn, but the food at Goofy's.
