Character Meals Super Thread!!

How would you compare each DL character dining to a WDW dining?

Here is how I take it correct me if I am incorrect.

GK - Chef Mickey's
AG - Cinderella's Royal Table
SUWMF - Ohana
M&F - Crystal Palace
Chip n Dale's - Garden Grill

I might equate Chip n Dale's more to the Artist Point character breakfast, but a case certainly could be made for it being similar to the Garden Grill.

Thanks for the reply,
Just to let you know Artist Point has not offered a character breakfast since 2003

Ok, I am a WDW vet and it's been over 20yrs since I've been the Anaheim area so ALOT has changed. THANK YOU for this thread- it has helped me immensely!

If I read correctly I do not have to worry about making any type of priority seating until I am exactly 60days out..so if we are going in Mid June, then I'd call in Mid April?

I think I am most interested in Minnie's.

That is correct.....if you want June 15 you would call or email April 15. Minnie's is a great one for lots of characters!!

I have been trying to narrow down my character meals too. Have never been to DLR, but a WDW vet, so looks like we are gonna do Minnie's, and definitely Goofy's so far. We are going with another family that has a "princess" same age as my DD10), so they will be doing Ariel's. I wish DD would be interested, but no can do, so we will do other things while they do that. LOL

:rotfl2: My 11 yr old boy would be thrilled to go to the Princess meal......lol He loves "the ladies"!!! :rotfl:

Thank you for your reply and this whole thread!

I am relieved if you want the truth that we do not have to worry about doing arrangements months in advance.

Now back to more reading, and planning. :cool1:

Just back from our DL trip. We did the Surf's Up breakfast this morning, and it was Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Stitch, and Daisy! DD was excited to see Daisy, since she is a pretty rare character. We did see her last summer at "Dancin' with Disney" in DCA, which wasn't open. I love the Surf's Up breakfast, such great character interaction.

We have the 5 day park hopper and were going to book lunch for our 3rd visit (ariels grotto) in March on our first day. Do you think we would be ok to give a weeks notice for lunch or you def recommend booking in advance?
We arw in Australia so should we phone or can we email if we do book in advance

Cheers

I'm glad you had a good time!!! Surf's Up really is a wonderful character meal!!!

I would consider making a reservation before arriving. Depending on when in March you're going....you could be here during "Spring Break" season......so larger crowds. Save yourself the phone call and just email:

dine@disneyland.com

It's very easy to do it this way (and free). Email them the date, preferred time and how many in your party (break it down too~Adults/Child 3-9/Infant 0-2) and of course.....the restaurant!!

Thank you so much for the email address, I couldnt see one on the DL website. I would feel a lot happier if we booked in advance. I would hate to be disappointed if they were all full and we missed out

You're very welcome!!! :goodvibes

Well this was my morning coffee read this morning! What great information. I still can't decide which place to have our Easter breakfast at though, but I am leaning closer to Goofy's Kitchen.
One son wants to only see Blue, from Rio....sadly I don't think Rio characters are at Disneyland.

Thank you, I'm glad it had info you could use!! Goofy's will offer you the most food choices at their buffet.....so it would be a good choice!!

I've never seen any characters from Rio at Disneyland (I think if they movie had done better......that might have helped getting them into the park......lol)

Okay narrowed it down to Goofy's Kitchen, but I can't find a breakdown of prices, also, in your opinion which is worth while breakfast, lunch or dinner my kids are not picky about food at all.

The price for Goofy's Kitchen runs from $27.99 to 32.99 for brunch and $33.99 to 37.99 for dinner.

I think it's all preference on if you want to do it as a breakfast or as a dinner. There will be more dinner type choices for the dinner but the brunch will offer choices for breakfast & dinner/lunch foods. All good!!

I chose dinner just because it was a character meal choice we could do outside of prime park hours (and kind of a nice relaxing way to end the day when you don't care how long it takes since you're not trying to get back to ride more rides). I thought their mac 'n cheese pizza and peanut butter and jelly pizza was fun at dinner!

Does anyone know if they allow sharing at the character meals? It would be great if I could get just one plate for my 3 & 6 year old DDs to share.

Thank you!
