Character Meals Super Thread!!

Character meals are a fixed price per person and do not allow sharing. Given that their prime customers have lots of kids in their party (an most are buffets) it doesn't make much economic sense for Disney to allow this (for the same reason it makes great economic sense to you :)

I chose dinner just because it was a character meal choice we could do outside of prime park hours (and kind of a nice relaxing way to end the day when you don't care how long it takes since you're not trying to get back to ride more rides). I thought their mac 'n cheese pizza and peanut butter and jelly pizza was fun at dinner!

That's a good point. There are only 2 of the 5 character meals that offer a dinner option. It's a nice way to end the day.

Does anyone know if they allow sharing at the character meals? It would be great if I could get just one plate for my 3 & 6 year old DDs to share.

Thank you!

pharmama is correct, you are paying for the character interaction as well as the food....so no sharing meals. The child's meal (3 to 9) is $14.99 I believe for both meals (brunch/dinner).

Is Stitch always at the Surf's Up! breakfast? He is my sister's favorite character and, as far as I am aware, he is never in the parks, so that would be the main reason we would do a character meal.

No character is guaranteed at any of the meals, but I've never been there or heard about anyone being there when Stitch wasn't there. Good Luck!!

We saw stitch outside animation academy on Jan 25. And he was our character for Disney rewards visa also at DCA

The current rotation for the Disney Visa character meet n greet is Minnie and Stitch. So if anyone in your family has a Disney Visa (including debit cards) head over there!

Can you tell me where the Disney Visa meet & greet area is?

We are planning on having breakfast at Ariel's Grotto on one of our DCA mornings, and I was wondering if they have reservation times before the park opens like they do for the Minnie and Friends breakfast in DL Park?

The last I knew, it was off to the right of the Monster's Inc (kinda behind it) in Disney's California Adventure Park.

:wave2: Welcome!!

I can't answer this for sure........2 yrs ago, we had a breakfast time that was right at park opening (and I believe it was the first seating). They had us enter a certain gate and then were escorted into the park. I really don't know how it's being done currently.......hopefully, someone can answer this for you. If we don't get an answer.....you can always call Disney Dining and inquire: 714-781-3463

Thanks for all of the great information and tips.

Taking my family to dl for the first time this summer!!!

Thank you, I haven't seen anyone mention that they had a reservation for pre park opening for that restaurant, so I'd thought I would ask the experts :goodvibes. Thank you again for your help.

I'm wondering if they don't tend to do pre-park reservations because the restaurant isn't close to the entrance gates. Which means you would have guests wandering thru the parks. They would need to assign CM's to walk people all the way to the restaurant. :confused3

Quick Plaza Inn question - apologies if this has already been answered.

I'm 55 days out from our trip, and thinking about which day to schedule a character breakfast.

If a) park hours haven't been officially announced and b) our media won't include early entry, what should I try to book? If our reservation is before park opening, will they let us in anyway?

Call dining and they can tell you earliest reservation available. You can still go on a MM day with a reservation even if you don't have the privileges. For example if early entry is at 7 then you can book a 710.

I have a 9:10 reservation for 10 o'clock opening our first day will they automatically take our one MM?

When do you think would be a good time to book Surfs up Breakfast?

The plan is to do Surfs Up on our last day, we won't be going into the parks that day but have some hours to burn before our flight leaves. It will be a group of 10 if that matters.

I don't have first hand experience with this, but our MM entry was a mess with most of the CMs having no idea what was going on. I would guess that it would use up your MM.
