ds (5) wants to go and wear a pirate costume but I dont think there is anything similar to princess thing for boys. So his next request was chef Mickeys every day but maybe we could find a cool other choice. Any suggetions?
Donalds SAfari Breakfast?
DS said his favorite foods are Shrimp, lobster, pizza and broccoli if that makes a difference, lol

How about Cape May Cafe (Goofy, Donald and Minnie) and Ohana (Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto) ? Not sure where to find the best Brocolli though, lol!

My son is 4 and we have Donald's Tusker House and Hollywood and Vine (cause he likes Oso and Handy Manny) on our ADR list. We also have CRT, but he really likes the princesses too lol.

My son is 4 (will be almost 5 when we go). He loves Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, and Hollywood and Vine. He also likes Garden Grill because he likes seeing Chip and Dale. He liked Crystal Palace this past year in MK for Winnie the pooh and Tigger which was also nice.

I have 3 boys. They have always enjoyed Breakfast at Ohana with Stitch & Mickey. Great food and great character interaction. Also, Tusker House Breakfast with the Safari gang was always a winner too as someone else mentioned.:thumbsup2

Thanks, He likes Oso but not manny. The Tusker house I think might be good.
I think we will try for Crystal palace as well for yds. We had ADR last time but the storms were so bad that week, ride closings and we were so drenched we canceled and went back to our resort.

It's not a character meal, but Whispering Canyon Cafe (at the Wilderness Lodge) might be fun too.

Also Sci-Fi in Disney Studios!

When our DS was 3 (almost 4), he wore his Peter Pan costume to CRT & Askerhus.

As an aside, if they did a Pirate Character Meal w/ a Jack Sparrow character, I would so be there!! :lovestruc

Absolutely!
I hadnt considered Teppan Edo, is it the food or atmosphere?

My son is 9 and we have done Chef Mickey's and Ohana. We went to the breakfast at Ohana (Lilo, Stitch and friends) in December and we loved it!! He got to get up and dance around the restaurant with Lilo and Stitch. Lots of fun. It is family style. Chef Mickey's is a buffet. I liked that we didn't have to get up to get our food and miss the characters coming around to the tables. Have a great trip!

Teppan Edo is a "Must Do" for my DS.

We've been to WDW about 10 times throughout his life....and ALWAYS eaten at Teppan Edo (formerly Teppan Yaki)... it is the #1 Tradition that he refuses to break....

....and he has been to WDW from age 1 to 18......While the show has changed throughout the years... it typically involves.... KNIVES.... Fire....and ASIAN atmosphere....

My son loves all three. He LOVES Japan-anything. He loves Japanese cooking and sushi... loved Manga books when that age... Five year ago he even bought a Japanese language book...plus the Manga books...

The Shoes he wears now are from Epcot... and on our last visit he bought his girlfriend the "Pick a Pearl" necklace.

So if your DS is 'into' any of the above... he should LOVE Teppan Edo...

Hugs,
Mary

I wish we'd done Garden Grill when we went, my ds loves Chip and Dale (made a shirt at DTD with chip and dale saying **** says Chip and Dale rock!) They were the only characters on his must see list and kept missing them until our final day.

thank you. He doesnt know lilo and stitch but we are planning Ohana for dinner(no characters.) We do hibachi at home, I am assuming Teppan Edo is hibachi. Ill check out the menu. Thank you

We went last month and our son is 5 yrs old. His favorite places was Tusker House Breakfast, Cape May breakfast, and Hollywood & Vine breakfast and lunch. He loves CP lunch.
In the past my son loved eating in the castle b/c he got a sword.

Character meals that my DS has loved were CM, CP, Ohana, and GG. We're trying Tusker House this upcoming trip!

For non-character meals, he has enjoyed Ohana dinner, Teppan Edo, LTT and HDDR. He likes meat and doesn't go near vegetables, especially broccoli!:scared1:

Cape May cafe dinner has seafood but no characters. The characters only appear at breakfast, but it is a good meal and the character interaction is great

In Answer to the above...

YES - Teppan Edo is Hibachi. Some folks don't rate it well because they have Beni Hana in their area...

We have Hibachi in our city too... but it doesn't hold a candle to Teppan Edo... Plus ... Hibachi is a "Special Dinner" to us.... we really don't go often... so going at Epcot makes it all the more special.

So I completely understand why Teppan Edo may not be very special to some folks... but it is to my family...

As I recall... you get a salad... maybe Miso soup and an assortment of Japanese veggies... zucchini, onion, mushrooms ( the mushrooms were AWESOME !)... noodles... and then your choice of meats. I usually get Steak and Scallops... Son gets shrimp.

Hope you have a magical time !

Mary

To the best of my memory the entrees don't come with soup or any kind of an appetizer. Soup is available of course; the inclusion factor would depend on how you are paying.

OP - are you looking for a character meal every day? Bless your heart...I'd be on character overload! LOL

Oh goodness NO, he asked to go to Chef Mickeys every day but I am not nuts. We are doing one or two. Right now CM and CP for late lunchand I am still debating that one.
Thanks for info everyone.
