Character meals at IOA/Universal?

I think Confisco's Grill at IOA has a character breakfast on the weekends. I believe it is the Cat and the Hat and Thing One and Two. Anyone know if I'm right?

Also, has anyone done this that can comment on the food, service, ect. We ate there for lunch one day and it was just ok. I wish they had a Super Hero character breakfast - that would be cool!

I wonder why they only do these on weekends. We are going during the week and I would love to take my kids. So many people post the same question and it seems to me that it couldn't be a money loser to run a couple times during the week.

It's all about attendance. This has only been implemented since last year, so it is fairly new, and more people (locals) come on weekends (kids out of school) than during the week. That's *my* guess.

Well, when you become president of the company (or at least park) I expect you to change that.:D I wish they would at least do one at the hotels. We usually don't eat much breakfast anyway, so when we do character breakfasts its just for the atmosphere.

So do dinner! They have character dinners at all three hotels.:D

Last weekend we saw Scooby and Woody at The Kitchen (dinner) in the HRH on both Sat and Sun nights. They came to the table and had a lot of fun with the kids - too bad we didn't have our camera with us!! - we weren't expecting them to be there!

They have character dinners at the hotels? I thought they only had the breakfast on the weekends and no other character meals. Do they alternate hotels or does every hotel have them every night? Also, are they all the same characters? Tell me more Spidey.

TigerLilly's Mom--the food at the character breakfast is nothing spectacular. Buffet style scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, potatoes, fruit, cereal, croissants and muffins. I think oatmeal and yogurt too. Beverages included. The service was good--always someone there to refill drinks. A 15% gratuity was already added to our bill. The character interaction on the other hand was great! I would recommend this.

The character dinner at the hotels have recieved pretty mixed reviews but the best seems to be at the tratoria PBH the main problem seems to be the hotel can't tell u characters coming to dinner and it seems they can be let down as well:jester:

We had dinner at the Islands rest in RP last year with Scooby and Shaggy. It was a pretty nice dinner. There is a kids dining area and they can even sit at a small table and there is a kids buffet where they can help themselves. We sat at a table in the corner and felt like we were on a date! Shaggy talks and was very good at remembering names. There is also this big bed thing that the sat on and watched tv with a bunch of other kids. It was really a nice evening. We also saw Woody outside the rest at Hard Rock.
But, there was also a lot of opportunity to see the characters in the park as well. I think they alternate nights at the 3 resorts, but there is something every night.

Thanks Zaxmom. I had started another thread with similar questions about this because I thought this one was dead. I hope Scooby and Shaggy are there when we go.

Scooby and Shaggy are very regular. Scooby Doo is still popular, and with the new movie being relased, plus the new cartoon, that duo will be around for a looooooooooong time.

We had dinner at the Hard Rock Hotel restaurant with Scooby and Woody Woodpecker last year. We weren't expecting it so it was a nice surprise because both characters were really good.
