we are going the last week of sep with a 5 and 1 year old...any suggestions on character meals?

I have a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old (both boys - will be ~3 and 4.5 when we go).
We picked and have ADRS for:

Garden Grill (epcot) for our 1st meal dinner- Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale) - friends ate there and said it was their best meal a few weeks ago.

Hollywood and Vine (DHS) lunch - LIttle Einsteins - they were a MUST for our boys!

Crystal Palace (MK) lunch - Winnie the Pooh and friends.

Tusker House (AK) breakfast 8am! before park opens! My youngest REALLY wants to meet Donald and Goofy.

1900 Park Fare (GF) breakfast. I have pics of my ds1 with Alice and the Mad Hatter when he was 1.5 in Disneyland so i would LOVE new pics. Plus I really want to see the Grand Floridian.

we just got back yesterday and our 7 year old son really enjoyed Crystal Palace for his birthday with Winnie the Poo. The only thing we didn't like was that they ran out of chocolate birthday cakes even though I order 2 weeks in advanced. Thanks goodness our son was flexible and enjoyed the vanilla birthday cake. Other than that it was REALLY good.

Another vote for Crystal Palace. We did breakfast there on every trip until my DD turned 16 and made us switch to 'Ohana (loved the food, Stitch not so much). Now we're going in Sept. without any kids and we're going to book Crystal Palace for breakfast again!

My kids loved O'hana breakfast with Lilo & Stitch. Mickey & Pluto were also there.

Crystal Palace is a good idea with the Pooh characters, and Chef Mickey's will get the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto).

Hollywood & Vine has Playhouse Disney characters if they are familiar with them.

For princesses, do Akershus. You get 5 princesses out of several. We had Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Aerial, Jasmine. You could also have gotten Snow White (wish we had her!), Mulan, or maybe Mary Poppins? A picture is included with the price. If you are not big on Norweigen food, do the breakfast. We did dinner, and it was good, but we eat anything.

For Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step-Sisters, & Step-Mother do 1900 Park Fare for DINNER. It is cheaper than CRT... but you lose the magic of the castle. This was fine with us because our trip was for the boys, not the girls. I thought I was getting the below crowd for Park Fare when I made the ADR. I didn't realize it was different for dinner. It was a bonus, as my 2.5 yr old LOVES Cinderella. She was very cute at this meal!

1900 Park Fare during breakfast for other great Disney characters, such as Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter.

We’re going for my daughter’s 1st birthday. Here are the character meals we’re doing (one for each day).

Chef Mickey’s
Crystal Palace (will celebrate birthday here because she loves Pooh)
Tusker House w/ Donald
Ohana w/ Lilo & Stich
May add Cape May Café w/ Minnie (trying to make it work in our schedule without moving other ADRs around)

We decided to go more with the cartoon costumed characters because that is what she basically knows at this time…not the princesses (YET).

My kids loved 'Ohana's breakfast (my two year old LOVED Stitch!), and Crystal Palace (dinner) was also a big hit as everyone loved Pooh and Tigger.

Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare - Breakfast and Dinner

My kids have been going to these since my oldest was 3. They are 17 and 15 now.:dance3:

Another vote for Crystal Palace! Great interaction with Pooh and friends and yummy breakfast. Plus a fun parade around the restaurant with the characters and breakfast price is pretty reasonable, for a character meal.

You don't say if you have boys or girls, but we also did 1900 Park Faire for dinner with Cinderella and crew. That was great and the food was pretty good. Great character interaction.

We also did the Akershus princess lunch and DD loved the castle and princesses, but we were not impressed with the food and DD didn't eat anything there. It was also a bit expensive.

We're trying Chef Mickey's this next trip and can't wait! :cool1:

Have fun!

Crystal Palace with the Pooh Crew! I've never done Chef Mickey but it gets great reviews for that age group/families. My DD and I loved 1900 Park Faire too, with the Cinderella Buffet dinner. It was great fun!

the one year old is a boy, 5 year old a girl. this trip is really for her...she is dying to do the CRT. other than that im still trying to decide.

My DD was just turning 4 on our last trip and Crystal Palace was her favorite, followed closely by Chef Mickey.

If you can't get CRT, then DEFINITELY get 1900 Park Fare for the dinner, and Akershus (sp) for a meal! My princess loved both of these. Here's her pic at 1900 with Cindy & PC

I have a 1 year old DS and a 3 year old DD and this is what we are planning.

CRT breakfast
Akershus lunch
1900 Park Fare breakfast (Alice, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, Tigger & Pooh)
Crystal Palace breakfast
Chef Mickey's dinner
Le Cellier dinner (or Teppan Epo, 3rd choice San Angel Inn) (only non-character).

Good luck deciding!
