Do the characters only fuss about the kids, I am going over in early 2015 with my 17 yr old DD for our first ever trip, we are thinking of doing a character meal, but don't know if the characters will by-pass us.

Do many adults go without young kids and is it still exciting.

Also what ones are the the best to go to, both for characters and food.

Different coast, I know, but we ate at Garden Grill in Epcot, and the characters fussed over us every time they passed. I was the youngest in our party, being 15, and I wasn't even the one who was fussed over the most! There was also a group of 2 adults and the characters interacted with them the same as they did with us.

We - my DD and I - do character meals each time. My DD just celebrated her 28th birthday at Disneyland and the characters at both Surf's Up and Goofy's Kitchen were great! We were there last January and had great character interaction then also.

Both times this year I have watched the characters interact with other adults sitting at the tables next to us.

You will have a great time!

I just got back from a trip with my dd (14) and we did lunch at Ariel's Grotto. All of the characters stopped at every table and interacted with all the guests. We picked Ariel's because it was her favorite when she was younger (she hasn't been to DL since she was 5 though.) But, we got some great character interaction.

We found the same to be true when we did a couple meet-n-greets in the park too...in our experience, they treat everyone as a kid. We did Donald at DCA, Thor at DL and Aladdin and Genie at DL.

They will stop and interact with you, and the amount of "fuss" depends on the character and also how much you interact with them. When we ate at Goofy's Kitchen once, DD and I were in the bathroom when the Mad Hatter came by. DH said he made a big fuss over DH and gave the camera to the people at the next table and made them take several photos of he and DH. Unfortunately, DD and I missed him as he did not come back to the table to see her when we returned, but we have some fun pictures of him with DH!

Definitely yes on all accounts. If you give the vibe you are willing to play they will play, no matter the age.

Earlier this month at Surfs Up a Beach Boys song came on when Pluto was at our table. He started doing some dancing moves, I joined in. He whirled me through the room for the rest of the song, much to my friend's amusement.

They will spend time with you regardless of age. I went to Surf's Up with my friends (29, 33, and 46) and all the characters stopped by and interacted with us.

Even yesterday, Rapunzel was meeting guests in front of the Royal Theatre, and was spending a good amount of time chatting with a 20 something solo guest.

thanks heaps guys, that info helps me out heaps.

Part of me was worried that we would be ignored as we had no kids and the other part was worried that we would be frowned upon for taking up the time of the characters and stopping them from getting to the little kids.

thanks again, now just which ones to go to, we are considering both a breakfast and a dinner

I have done these with only adults and they were all great (well, until Peter Pan asked my mother on her birthday "why do you want to get old" and all hell broke loose...but that's another story! :rotfl2: ).

I actually found once having a character meal solo as a grown up that they stepped it up a level. The CM had come and asked me before hand if I wanted to meet them and she said she would pass on that I was dining alone. I couldn't work out why we were having that conversation. Each and every face character then came and sat at my table and had a full conversation. I think I got more attention than some of the kids in the room!

We were there in September (my wife and I) and all the characters at our character meals interacted with us. Snow White is my wife's favorite and when she came to our table Snow White was so gracious in talking to us (Snow White also loved my wife's Sophia the First shirt and amulet she was wearing). Minnie came by several times to interact with us as well. We never had any character pass us by and they all were wonderful. That's the best thing we love about Disney, no matter how old or young you are everyone will enjoy themselves.
