Is it only breakfast?

Do they offer it everyday?

Is it in one of the dining rooms?

What characters are there?

Is it hard to get a reservation?

Does it cost extra?

Would it make sense to take a 20 month old baby?

Any other info would be much appriciated.

The character breakfast is only offered on the 7 day, and you are given tickets to one. The one you get (meaning day) is depending on your dining rotation, and you only get to attend one. They are only offered on the days at sea, with the exception of the Western, there is one the morning before you dock at Key West.

Answering the few questions not already covered.

It doesn't cost extra (no food on board except Palo's and the packaged snacks outside the movie cost anything).

Characters I remember were Chip and Dale, Mickey and Minnie, and Goofy. They are a bit rushed, and there are many, many opportunities to meet characters on board the ship. The navigators list character meets throughout the day.

The meal is in Parrot Cay.

As to the 20 month old, you have nothing to lose taking her since it doesn't cost anything. At least you'll get breakfast for her while you're at it :)

The characters do a litte song and dance routine periodically throughout the breakfast.

About taking the baby - the baby is probably to young to be "scared" of the characters the way some of the older children are. Kids are used to seeing the characters on TV so they are a manageable size. When they meet them in person, they can seem so big and some children get scared.

Anyway, I definately would take the baby.

I have to disagree with your 20 month old being *too young to be scared of the characters*.....
we were at Disney two weeks ago and never thought our DD would be frightened of them but she didn't care for them at all. She is 16 months old. She was fine with the "real faced' ones suchs as Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Fairy Godmother etc but not the other ones.....

I would definitely take a 20 month old to the breakfast but just don't set your expectations too high.....the child may LOVE them or be scared to death!!

My Bad! It's been years since we had a baby in the house and 20mo is almost two and would be very aware of the characters and their sizes.

My 7 year old niece was the ultimate costume-phobe.

Since infancy she has been deathly afraid of Santa, Easter Bunny, Clowns, and the Looney Toons characters at Six Flags.

In December we went to WDW followed by the cruise. The whole family went including my 5 nieces of which the costume-phobe was the oldest.

We were worried, but figured we'd just help her keep her distance.

The first day at WDW my sister had booked a character breakfast at Animal Kingdom.

Entering the park, niece had a meltdown. She knew that we were going to see characters and she kicked and screamed and cried. We were firm that she had to go, but she didn't have to be near the characters. She was sobbing and sniffing and barely touched her food.

We alerted the cast members and they tipped off the characters to not come by her. She sat in the corner and watched her sister and cousins have a great time. By the end of breakfast she told me that she might walk up to Pluto and say hi, but she then backed out.

We left the restaurant and were walking along when she saw Pooh. She suddenly insisted that she must have her picture taken with Pooh. She shocked us all as she ran up and gave Pooh a big hug.

From that point on she was fine. She got an autograph book and I think seeing the characters and getting autographs was her favorite part of WDW and the cruise. She loved seeing all the characters on the ship and never missed a chance to get an autograph.

part way through the trip she turned to me and said "You know that whole character thing? I'm over it".

My DS was just over 2 yrs old our first time to WDW. We knew going into the whole thing that he might be afraid of the characters, we let him lead the way so to speak. Prior to our visit to WDW, he would not go within 20 ft of Santa, the Easter Bunny, a Clown, or any other costumed thing. His first encounter, I'll never forget it, was Tigger (at AK).......he tried running straight up to Tigger, he didn't understand he had to wait his turn. He was the fourth or fifth person in line, he couldn't hardly contain his excitement...he was jumping up and down it was incredibly cute. When it was his turn to go up there, he slowly walked up there, handed Tigger his autograph book, watched Tigger sign the book, then watied patiently 'til he seen the go ahead give him a hug look.............I'll never forget that moment!

He's now 6 yrs old, we've been there a total of 3 times.......and that's all he talks about, seeing all the characters! Well that and the fireworks, and the rides, and the shows...........you get the point! Sometimes he asks me, mom when can we move to WDW..........daddy can come visit us!

And to this day, he don't like clowns or the Easter Bunny but, Santa's not so bad!
