I looked back about 5 pages and didn't see anything for this- I did see a "which one" for a girl and her BF, but there was little talk of the interactions w/ characters.

I'm going with my mom in September and I think she'd like a character meal. When I was younger (you know, the tween years when you're too cool for school) I wasn't into them but she wanted to, so we went to maybe one or something after I turned 13.

Possibilities are:

Cape May
Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
Liberty Tree Tavern

I haven't thought of any others- cancelling out 1900 Park Faire because I don't like the Grand Floridian.

We're fine with both the Pooh gang and the Mickey gang, but aren't really into the hooping and hollering interaction- more interaction at the table, picture ops and stuff like that. Quiet but not too quiet. Entertained, but not to the point where we have to get out of our seats or something crazy. We also aren't those crazy adults running for characters as soon as we see them- we usually get our pic w/ Mickey at the Toontown Tent and that's the extent of it. We don't waste time waiting in lines for characters but mom might want to stop if it's someone cool :rotfl: I just thought that a CM might be a fun thing to do.

I remember going to the Crystal Palace for Pooh & friends a while back, but don't remember much about it.

I'd consider breakfast, but am more looking more at dinner. I was thinking that a breakfast might be a little much RIGHT before going into the parks to ride! However I LOOOOVE breakfast food so I'm considering it. We're also not picky eaters- but if anyone saw my post before about eating healthy, that's the only stipulation (although after reading responses I am sure I could survive just about anywhere except HDDR). I remember a poster mentioned that CP had a good healthy selection for dinner.

Any thoughts? :confused3

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

we are going to, (thats dbf and me) chef mickeys, donalds breakforastsaurus, crt breakfast and 1900 park fair as well as crystal palace.

I have heard chef mickeys is lovely and cant wait to try it,

You can't go wrong with either Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace.....they are my picks! :thumbsup2

DBF and I ate at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's for breakfast in December and liked them both, but CP was much better. We didn't participate in the "hooping and hollering interaction" but the characters were great with us at the table - lots of hugs and kisses and time for pictures.

Edited to add that there was lots of fresh fruit, toast and cereal choices at both in addition to some of the less-healthy options :)

I would choose the place that offers your mom's favorite characters. We looked at CP for an adr, but quickly dismissed it because our family isn't into Pooh & friends. We chose CM because everybody likes Mickey even if he's not necessarily everyone's favorite.

CP has a wider range of food. Some people think it's too fancy, but DH and I love it because it's a little different. We're going there with my mom for dinner in Sept. If you make a later reservation, the crowds will thin and there will be less craziness. DH and I had an 8:30 reservation in July and it thinned out considerably once the parade started at 9. We could see it while we ate.

I hated LTT. A lot of people like it because it's thanksgiving-type food. But, it tasted very processed to me. It's sponsored by Stouffers and I kept wondering if it had the same preservatives that go into frozen meals. That said, the decor at LTT is nice for adults, it's darker, and I think it was quieter because the tables are spread out. But, there's only one bathroom and once dinner got full I remember waiting a loooong time to go.

I haven't been to CM, but we're going there with my mom, too.

I also don't want to stuff myself with breakfast food before the rides. What some people do is schedule for the latest seating. So, if you go to the EMH park at 8am, you've got several park hours before your 11am seating and it's now brunch.

My mom and I LOVE the Crystal Palace! Great interaction (they don't skip or ignore you because you don't have kids) and very yummy food too! Save room for dessert :-)

We dont have kids and we did our first character meal on our last trip. It was very relaxed and nice. The food was good and the character interaction was perfect. We ate at the Crystal Palace.

Thanks guys!! :thumbsup2

I'm leaning towards Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's (I'll have to ask mom about which characters she'd prefer). And that late breakfast idea is great!! More like lunch than breakfast time but still yummy breakfast food- thanks rigs32!

No thoughts on Cape May? I heard it is a crab bake or something like that... characters? A possibility? :confused3

I've eaten at Cape May for both dinner and breakfast. Dinner I didn't care for as we live pretty close to the sea and the shellfish just didn't taste like I'm used to here at home. Desserts at dinner were fabulous. I didn't think they had characters at dinner though. Hmmm. Breakfast here is my family's favorite breakfast with or without characters. The food is great, there are tons of choices and all the times we've eaten here the buffet is always hot, fresh and very well maintained. I think the character interaction here is very understated. No crazy games or anything. Just characters coming to your table kind of thing. We ate here once and it was so uncrowded that Chip and Dale sat with DS and colored with him. I really enjoy the breakfast here immensely.

We weren't too impressed with Chef Mickey's. I would strongly suggest Crystal Palace, with LTT a close second.
