I will be at the World in exactly 2 weeks. I will be there all by myself. I LOVE Minnie and Mickey, and would (maybe) like to have a meal with them.

What do you recommend??? Do you think it's feasible as a single to do a buffet (like the clambake)? Should I do LTT? (but I'm not sure I'll like the food, it's too "American" for me...)

HELP!!!

First off, the characters will interact with you by yourself if you want to interact with them, so don't worry about that. They know that you're likely there to see them. Second, LTT rarely has Mickey as he's not scheduled to appear there, but Chef Mickey's usually does, so you need to consider which characters make regular apperances at which meals. No character is ever guaranteed, but at least you know who to expect. Beyond that, I'm not much help as my second trip is next week, and the only place I remember eating at in '94 was Cinderella's castle.

I think Chef Mickey's is the only place I've seen both Mickey and Minnie. Most of our character meals have been breakfasts, though, and I'm sure if there is a lunch or dinner with both, someone will pipe up with the info. :)

The two things that "worry" me for a character meal are:
1. How will I get a picture with the characters (or at least Mickey/ Minnie)? There is no mother there with me to take the picture.

2. What to do with my backpack/ purchases when I go to a buffet? Can I just leave it at the table when I go to fill up my plate? I will be staying offsite, no car, so going to the hotel to drop it off is not an option.

I've been to several character meals solo and getting pictures with the characters is one of the few challenges. I have usually been able to get one of the servers to take the pictures and sometimes someone at a neighboring table will volunteer.

I have always felt comfortable leaving my personal belonings at the table when going up to the buffet.

Enjoy! :)

When we went to Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK (featuring Mickey Mouse, Donald, Pluto and Goofy) our server told our group he would take one photo of each of our groups altogether- allowing me and my Mum to have a photo with the host himself- Donald. I really enjoyed that breakfast- and the food was great :)

Sandra, you may want to consider Garden Grill at Epcot. Only Mickey, no Minnie, but those pesky chipmunks are there. And the characters there seem to be drawn to solo diners and won't leave them alone! It's not a buffet but good food and good interaction.

For a buffet, you could try a late bfast at Cape May at Beach Club - very good food and character interaction. I went as a group of 3 adults and the characters were very good about 'talking' with us.

Let's see... first, the clambake isn't a Character Meal. Check out www.allearsnet.com, then the dining link, for CM information (who's where, and when). Chances are, as others have pointed out, your server or a neighboring diner can help with pictures. I wouldn't worry about leaving your stuff while you go up to the buffet, but if you'll be in a park for at least a couple of hours after buying anything, you can have it sent to the front of the park to pick up on your way out. Then you can either leave your backpack under the table or hang it over your shoulder when you go for more food. Or, as has also been suggested, choose a non-buffet Character Meal.

I have done Chef Mickey's solo and agree with PJesse25 that getting the pictures is the hardest part. It has only been at the character meals that I have had difficulty with this b/c if I wait in line for pictures at the parks the CM with the character is usually very nice about taking pictures for me.

I also have felt comfortable with leaving my belongings at my table when I go up to the buffet.
