Need help! We won't be doing any parks the first day of arrival only the MNSSHP that night. We will probably be arriving around 12:00 so what would be a good character lunch to attend? We originally planned on Chef Mickey but just realized they don't do lunch only dinner!!! :confused3

I believe the Garden Grill in Epcot is the only restaurant to offer a character lunch.

What about lunch at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge? It's not a character lunch, but it is fun. Since you are having a big night at MK, a non-character lunch should be fine.

Will I be able to go to the Garden Grill or CRT without having to use ticket admission to get in?

You have to use a park ticket to get on the parks' property for meals.

What about Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club and pig out on awesome ice cream desserts? Just a thought :)

I don't believe there are any character meals that don't require park admission at lunchtime. How about the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. It's kinda fun for the kids and those of us who are kids at heart!

Also, over at Fort Wilderness there is an all you can eat lunch buffet. Here's the menu:
LUNCH
Noon until 2:30 P.M.

All-You-Can-Eat Buffet includes:

Fried chicken
Pizza
BBQ of the day
Chef's selection of vegetables
Daily Chef's specials
Macaroni & Cheese
Assorted hot and cold sandwiches
Chili
Soup of the day
Salad Bar
Fruit cobbler
Pudding
Beverages available at an additional cost

Price: $10.99 Adult; $6.99 Child (3 - 11)

Soup and Salad Bar Only Available

I can't really recommend the buffet as I have not tried it, but it sounds like a lot of food for the money and it might be fun to explore Ft Wilderness. I found it listed on this link: http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm

Crystal Palace also has a character lunch (Pooh & Friends), but like the others requires park admission to get in.

I can't think of any character lunches that take place at a resort.

If princesses are in your alley, the Norway princess breakfast in Epcot (restuarant Akerthus) just expanded to lunch and dinner- I believe it is a menu only lunch/dinner, with family style appetizers and desserts. Check with CRO. It features at least 5 princesses at the meal.

Out of all these suggestions which do you guys think is the best one as far as character interaction and the taste of the food? Thanks

I'd be temped to book the earliest seating at Chef Mickey's before the party. Get in at noon and grab lunch at whatever fast food venue exists at your resort.
