Character Look-alikes: CM or CP?

Thanks!

My S is also planning to audition for a character look alike for Disney Tokyo

Has anyone had any experience with this?

A CP is considered a CM (cast member). But, there are folks in that role that are FT, PT, seasonal, and yes, College Program

More specific question: Are Character look alikes CP or FT/PT/seasonal CMs? (he wants to be a character as a CPer only)

There are College Programers who are character performers.

They have a special set of auditions for those who are interested in being a character performer on the CP.

Here is info on their blog about the opportunity. Pretty sure they will update the schedule when they get new info for the next set of auditions:

A couple of things to point out:
1) They prefer that anyone wishing to audition applies and interviews before going to the audition. This way they can indicate interest in other positions if they aren't selected to be a performer (also if they are declined at some point along the way they don't waste their time traveling to an audition).

2) the one audition is for everything that falls under "character performer". There isn't a separate audition for someone who would like to be a face character or a separate audition for someone who would like to be a parade performer. The one audition encompasses enough stuff that they can identify those from it.

Thanks!

I know a handful of people who have worked in Tokyo. Keep in mind, Tokyo is not operated by Disney, it's a different company. They typically make their offers towards the end of the calendar year and the Performers sign a year long contract (Spring-Spring). This is not part of the CP.

All of the above.
