I am clueless about character dinning eg. where to go for this, what characters are there, what to expect and how to go about booking in for these things.

We are taking our fist trip to WDW in November and want to do this.

Any ideas, tips or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This link should be real helpful: http://www.wdwig.com/dining.htm

If you scroll on down, you'll see phone numbers to make priority seating for all meals including character meals and also links to click on for character meal locations and characters and so on. I checked this website but only saw a few of the meals listed so but wdwig seems to have all of them.

I personally try to plan my character meals around wherever I plan to be on a given day. I have my favorites as others do and I definitely try to visit those!

We recently returned - great trip with adult children, grandchildren, and assorted other relatives. I'm the planner and wasn't too concerned with booking character meals except for CRT in the castle which I got for the 'girls". (Wonderful experience, BTW.)

Then when talking to my grown-up children each told me that character breakfasts were the one thing they remembered from past trips when they were young. So I figured I better find one that all of us could attend!

Settled on dinner at Chef Mickey's and everyone had a ball. It surprised me - didn't really think it would be such a hit. Lots of characters - Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy - and lots of interaction. It's a rowdy place but a good time was had by all.

Had a hard time getting the PS because I thought of it so late, but got lucky about a week before we went and got a table for all 18 of us.

So I'd say try Chef Mickey's and call for the PS now.

Have fun!

Have to agree with Holidaybarb ~

Chef Mickeys is wonderful for character interaction and good food. I have recently made a ps for 1900 Park Fare and according to the DIS it is good too!!!!
