Hi Guys,
I really, really want to eat at some point with the characters!!
I was in California Adventure Park last year, and we ate at Ariel's Grotto, and that was absolutely incredible! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
What are some of the best places to eat that people have found? I would prefer dinner, but we're on a budget :sad1: and I'd rather spend most of my money on souvenirs!!!
I had a look at the dlpfoodguide, but I would love some other opinions if possible.
What is Cafe Mickey like? Do you think, although I am a childish 21 year old, that I would be able to get the children's meal? It looks great - I am a large patron of the McDonalds Happy Meal  . What are the waiters like? Would they let me get away with it?
Thanks everyone!!!

For character meals you would pay either adult or child price.
I would not bank on being allowed to pay the child price, but you could always ask :teeth:

maybe you should book for the tea party instead, its not a meal though-all cake and croissants. It is quite cheap and you get to see about 6 characters.

What tea party do you mean? Can we book that when we get there, or do you have to book pre-arrival?
cheers!! :sunny:

It takes place in the Plaza Gardens restaurant on Main Street every afternoon. Or there is also a character breakfast at the same place every morning. I would doubt very much if they'll let an adult pay for a child's meal as, once you're in there, you help yourself to as much as you want. I think that when you get there they wouldn't let you in on a child's reservation. Only my opinion though.

does nayone know mch about the character meal at inventions? I know its expensive, but is it that good? I like the idea of the buffet!

Also do the characters circulate or is there a place set aside for them?

Yes, it really is that good! The buffet is really extensive and there is so much choice.

The characters circulate the tables. For our first halfhour we were the only ones in our section so we were really spoilt but even towards the end of our meal when some other diners had arrived the characters still revisited us. I would definitely recommend going here, it might be expensive but it really is worth it. We are going to eat here again next summer.

Meant to say book your table early, say 6pm, it won't be so busy at that time.

Characters work their way around the tables.
Food is lovely.
Many have enjoyed this, but for us the limited choice of characters was a disappointment - especially no Mickey or Minnie :confused3 In DLP's premier hotel they should be a given :)

I wholeheartedly agree with you Reid. After reading your trip report I was expecting some not very well known or dare I say it "not very well liked" characters. The Gods must have been looking down on us that day, we had Minnie, Perla, Suzy, Eeyore, Tigger, Pluto and Orville. :cloud9:

Elaine? You met Orville - from the Rescuers???!! I am very envious if this is the fellow I think :teeth:

How much is the buffet at Inventions? We are looking to book a character meal when we go in December. The last 2 times we have been, we went to Cafe Mickey so would like to try somewhere different. Also what are the other options?

Thanks!

Inventions buffet costs 46 euros for adults and 24 euros for children.

I hope I'm not the bearer of disappointing news, Elaine - but that is not Orville, but a character rejoicing in the name of Launchpad McQuack!!!

You're right Becky!!! I've just looked at DD's autograph books and he has signed Launchpad McQuack! Whoops  I should have looked in there first! I have just googled to see who he is, well...er... they're both birds...er... both fly in the air...er....*slinks off in embarrassment*:blush::blush:

:rotfl: I only checked because he looked more like one of the ducks, than an albatross!! :scratchin And then I had to trawl through my character encyclopedia to find him!!

I really should get a life!!!! :guilty:
