Character Dining Vouchers?

I have been seeing people mentioning purchasing the Character Dining vouchers and I wanted to know if there is a benefit to buying them. We have Goofy's Kitchen booked for a dinner and I wasn't sure if there was a real benefit to getting the vouchers to use for that meal other than budget purposes (paying now versus later). Can anyone tell me what the cost is for an adult for the dinner, I know the voucher is $45 and would cover the tax and gratuity but I wasn't sure it was a deal or just a prepay. thanks!

The ones I bought from Cheaptix (or was it Orbitz... I can't remember) were the same price as paying at the time, however it includes gratuity, so in a way, you're saving 15% off the total cost.
