I am probably going to WDW May 27 - June 4. We will probably take a late afternoon flight back home. I was thinking could we go to a resort we aren't staying at at and eat lunch that Friday. We will be checked out of our hotel but can we still enter a resort to eat, or do I have to have park tickets to do that?

I am trying to decide if I want to do character dining at the beginning, middle or end of the trip. I am afraid if I do it right away my DD (3) will be shy and not want to talk to them, but thought if I waited she will be more used to the characters later in the week.

Still taking suggestions for a 3 year old - best character dining. food will have to be somewhat simple since my 14 year old will be classified as an adult and has pretty simple tastes, nothing fancy! Breakfast isn't the best meal since my 3 year old is allergic to milk and can't have a lot of "breakfast" foods.

You do not need park tickets to go to the different resorts only to get into a park. We really enjoy Chef Mickey's located at the Contemporary Resort. The characters there are Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto.

No problem going into a resort after check-out and you would not need a ticket. I am not sure there are any resort character "lunches", but you could try an early dinner depending on when you leave out.
