i have booked Ohanas and Cape May for character breakfasts when we are there in June, was just wondering what character dining people have done and what their experiences were like... also include photos if possible??

we done Tusker House AK last year and LOVED it!!
there was a GREAT selection of food, the kids had a fab time having their photos taken with mickey, daisy, donald and goofy, we never once felt rushed and just hope this years two are half as good!!

some pics to follow....

We LOVE character dining! We did 2 breakfasts (Ohana's at the Poly and Donald's at Tusker House) and 3 dinners (Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, and Chef Mickeys) on our January trip.

Where did you get the autograph things that are on the table at 'Ohana? They are too cute.

They were made with help from some of the fantastic DISigners in the DISign forum. Those ladies rock!!

They have their files available for sharing, then I just uploaded the ones I wanted (based on our ADR's, and knowing which characters we would see at the character meals we had booked) to our local Walmart photo printing lab. Each one only cost me 15 cents :thumbsup2.

The DISigners have their autograph cards broken down by character meal, plus scads of others for the characters which you might see in the parks. Then they have generic ones available for Epcot, AK, MK and DHS.....good for impromptu signatures for characters you may not have expected to bump into.

We had our pics taken with each of the characters whom we got signatures for, then when we came home, I bought a photo album that has the clear slide-in pages (the style that has two picture slots per page, one sitting on top of the other). The signed autograph card was slid in the top slot, with a photo of one of us with that character below it. It made for an AMAZING souvenir and only cost me about $10! :woohoo:

One of my favorites. My DD Makayla's nickname is Mickie. She told Mickey Mouse they had the same name, and he touched noses. She said he smelled her to see if they were related.

Thanks for posting that. Just curious...which finish did you get for them?

We used a matte finish.

For signing, we got a pair of those wonderful clickable Sharpies (to avoid worrying about those darn lids), then just let the signature dry for a few seconds before stacking the pics.

i LOOOOVEE your DDs dresses!! where did you get them, are they handmade??:lovestruc

I can't sew - at all. I bought them off ebay.

The dresses were very well made, and we got a lot of compliments while we were there. It was funny at one point my DD Maddie asked me "Why do you keep saying ebay? Where is ebay?". :)

The woman who made ours has an ebay store, MOM2RTK Designs. She also made them some lovely dresses to wear to MVMCP, the fabric has Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Mickey & Minnie on it.

oh thank you!! i'm always looking for something that bit different for my kids, these are just adoreable!

You're very welcome.

It was our very first trip to WDW & our twins 5th birthday - so I really wanted some memorable pics. I bought a set of dresses from another woman on ebay, and the dresses literally fell apart. And I can't sew. The woman who made these (Janet w/MOMTR2K) offered to fix those for me too. I thought that was very sweet of her to offer, since I didn't know her or buy them from her. The ones I bought from her held up very well - were lined and I felt like I really got my moneys worth. My DDs love them because they twirl. :thumbsup2

I've been debating ordering more for when we go back this November. On the one hand these still fit & look great. On the other, it's a new trip & new photo opportunities.

We love character meals and the great photos we get from them, too!
