Howdy...earlier I asked a question about how everyone thinks the crowds will be from 1/4/04 to 1/9/04....the overwhelming response was that everyone thought I would be in excellent shape....

This question pertains to reservations for some character dining and the cruises...I will be traveling with 8 adults and 3 kids (mine)...I want to make this trip really special for everyone...I want to do at least a couple of the character dining events and one cruise (not sure which one)....

Do you think I will have any troubles getting reservations for these things?

I am up to speed on the reservation windows from the TourGuide Mike website....but I am nervous that I won't beable to get in on some of these things....

Many Thanks

Welcome to the Dis, Monte!
We'll also be there in Jan. next year - arriving just as you leave - I've also read a lot of posts about Jan trips and am not expecting any difficulties in getting PS or cruise reservations - just be sure and make them as soon the 'window' opens and I'm sure you'll be fine - Jan is one of the slowest months in WDW - it can be quite cold and most students have just come off their holiday breaks, making it difficult to take them out of school again. I'm going at that time because my DH hates crowds and the heat and usually doesn't come with us - oh yeah, and I want to have breakfast with Mickey and all my kids and grandkids on my 50th!:smooth:

The only PS you might have trouble with is the infamous Cindarella's Royal Table Princess Breakfast in the castle. Year-round you pretty much need to call at 7am ON THE DAY that your 60-day window opens. This breakfast is often full within the first hour that the phone lines are open.

Other than that, you aren't likely to have problems. If you can't get a PS that you want for some reason, call back a week or so later and see if the situation changes. We went last January and I changed our meal reservations about a week before the trip without incident.

Hi ValpoMan - We are also going next Jan. (I think I answered your last post too!) and I have decided to do one of the Illumination cruises. I'm really excited because I plan on surprising DH, DD and DS. I am planning on telling them we are going to hang around Boardwalk, eat at ESPN and then stroll by the boat dock. Then we'll just jump on the boat.

It all seems so nerve-wracking! Will we get the cruise (only five parties a night get it) - will we get Boardwalk dock - will Illuminations get rained out? So many "ifs".

Hope you get all your PS's and other ressies!
