Since characters prices have now gone up, I'll put the new ones here to avoid confusion for future readers:

New prices are $1,150 for the first character plus $500 for each additional character at the same appearance.

The prices have not changed. It's still...

One Character: $975
Two Characters: $1,425
Three Characters: $1,875
Four Characters: $2,325
Five Character: $2,775

Oh great, thanks! Does it cost more for certain characters, or are they all treated equally? ie. is captain hook more expensive than cinderella?

They all cost the same. The only difference is if they require a themed backdrop, which costs extra. For example, Jack Sparrow and Anna & Elsa seem to require backdrops pretty much everywhere, but the Fab Five do not.

Yes, but they can't confirm whether you'll actually get them until about 2 weeks before your event. Prices are $550 for one character and $850 for two characters, with 20 minutes of interaction.

I was told that it's with the photo package. For example, a two hour photo package is $420, but with the required backdrop/lighting it becomes $595.

How long is the character interaction? That's quite costly so I'd hope it would be at least an hour or so.

It's 30 minutes, including travel time from their dressing room. However, I have yet to hear anyone except one Escape bride (many years ago) complain that the set was too short. Usually folks report that it felt longer than 30 minutes. The characters do a great job of interacting with everybody at the event in a significant way.

we had DCL Castaway Cay wedding.

also note the character options might be more limited. Or, at least that's what we were told. However, this is why they can't confirm until 2 weeks prior...as they do their best to get the characters you requested.
But it does look like more and more characters are being added to the ships rotation...so might have better luck getting your desired character now
