Character Changes

Seems like I read that there is usually some kind of seasonal rescheduling of characters in March and October of each year when certain characters disappear/reappear or change locations. Is this true? If so, do they do this in all the parks? If so, what's the rhyme or reason behind it? I'm sure Berlioz and KTP have the scoop on this...

i dont know the reason for the switch im afraid, i too would love to know this.

i know somtimes the animation building switches out their main character like ive seen lotso in their but later that year i have seen whinnie the pooh. maybe i will go back and their maybe brave or somthing their.

they seem to use the main stage at the animatioin building and where belles story time used to be as a way of meeting characters from their latest feature film this seems to usually stay for the duration of the films release depending how well the film does at the box office i suppose.

ive been asking some character questions too the characters are a big part of the magic for me. really looking forward to heading to the parks this october.

It's typically May and October, but this summer it's June - yes, it's true.

They do not change at all parks, it varies based on need.

Characters are constantly being revaluated based on popularity, space, and other offerings. Character times change twice a year due to heat index, so that's typically the time they'll move, add, or pull a character.

However, characters can be changed at any time (new movie release, new dining offering, etc). Example, Pinocchio was pulled from MK and replaced by Merida for a new movie release last month. However, another recent change was pulling Flik from DAK and replacing him with Dug and Russell... that was not associated to a new release, but simply reevaluating the current offering.

Are there any detail available on the June changes yet ? Thanks.

I believe most of the characters will not change, only a small percentage based on evals like Berlioz said. it's kind of like a legislative body I suppose, it doesn't change much in the short term, but check back in a long while and there's a good chance of bigger change. (In leguslatures, I think most agree this tends to happen not fast enough.) ;)
