DH and I love character breakfasts (Will, he loves the buffet - lol) and while I don't feel bad booking "regular" character breakfasts, I am having second thoughts about the Princess Storybook one.
I love to see all the little princesses dressed up but I don't want to take an ADR from a family with a little princess (or princesses).
I really want to do this as my husband is Norwegian and this is the only meal I think we would actually like there.
Please help me decide.
Thanks so much!

We did that and we loved it! The characters are so nice even if you don't have any children at the table. My husband acts like it's no big deal but he loved it when the "princesses" showed him attention and he didn't pass down any pictures with them either.:flower3:

DH and I love character breakfasts too, we did the Princess one with our nieces and the food was very good but if we did not have the kids with us I dont think we would have gone to it...DH gets shy around the face characters but the ones that dont talk to you he loves....go figure.

I booked 7 character meals and it's just me (27) and my mom going next trip. I have such a good time at these meals ans nothing beats a little extra time with the characters. I say book them and enjoy your vacation!!!!

I think the reason in your apprehension is very noble. But it's likely that any family with princesses are going to be more than two people (yes I know there are exceptions, but generally you'll be looking at 3+ people). So, those families won't be able to sit at a 2 person table. Therefore, I say go for it! :-)

The Princess breakfast is very American, from the menu:
Food is brought to your table Family Style

Fresh Seasonal Fruit
Bacon
Sausage
Scrambled Eggs
Potato Casserole
Biscuits
Cinnamon Rolls
The Princess Lunch and Dinner have more Norwegian type food, menu:

We're going for dinner in June, DD14 long ago outgrew the princesses (and DS11 was never fond of them  ), but DH has been wanting to go back for the food for several years now. So I booked the Princess dinner for him and told him to make sure he smiles nice for pics with the princesses  These meals are for anyone, so go and enjoy :goodvibes

My DH and I do character meals without kids and we love it. The photo ops are just as fun for adults and it really adds to the whole Disney experience. I don't think you should feel guilty because you're taking an ADR away from a child - you deserve the trip just as much - hey, maybe more - YOU'RE the one paying for it.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:flower3: Thanks so much for your comments everyone! I feel much more comfortable about booking it now. It's also good to know we are not the only "big kids" who enjoy the characters.
My hubby LOVES Jasmine - so if she is there - he will be very happy :goodvibes
ChelleinNC: I noticed that it is American - and that's the thing - I know I will like it ;) - DH can have lefse and that herring thing at home anytime :rotfl: he will just be happy that he is eating in "Norway".

:thanks:

Yeah don't feel bad. Who says that Character meals are just for kids?

This will be our first time at Disney World. My husband left all the planning for me. Since I know he likes buffets, many of them are character dining as well.

He better not complain when we have dinner with Winnie the Pooh. I have to say, I tried to book as many character meals as I could. Seems easier than to chase them around the parks. I am a little embarrassed though. I hope the characters will be nice to us.

Have a great time!
