Character BREAKFAST?

Did you feel rushed because it was the early CB or does it matter whether it's the early or late breakfast regarding feeling rushed?

I felt the characters raced to each table barely stopping for photos. My grandkids were 1 & 3 and we could barley get them together for a picture before they were waving good-bye.
We have done many, many character meals in DW and the difference between the two was huge.

Just got off the Wonder on Monday from the Alaska trip - they had 2 mornings with character breakfasts. We did not get to choose the day - it was assigned to us. I was told we couldn't change it either. Our usual servers were there that morning at Parrot Cay. And I agree with previous poster --- the characters raced by our table. They would not take individual pics with each kid at our table (we had 3 boys & 1 girl)...the character escort told the kids to get into 1 picture. And there was no time for autographs at the tables. We had the 1st seating, so maybe they were rushed?!?! Maybe 2nd seating is more laid back?!?!

That's a shame. :( My DS is in that age range (he'll be 2 when we cruise Alaska next year). There's not a lot of activities onboard for that age group. So, it's unfortunate when they can't savor the few activities they CAN enjoy. DCL needs to do better.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Why have the breakfast if they won't fully engage with the kids? I've seen the characters on the Dream take pics with each family member during meet n greets while others stood in line awaiting their turn. Why wouldn't they do it when people are waiting comfortably in their seats at breakfast?

I also don't understand why they don't have more than one Mickey (and other popular characters) in more than one suit on different parts of the ship taking pics. This would help expedite the lines and photo shoots.

Wait a minute, how the heck did I get up here? (Stepping down from this soapbox)

Don't mind me. I'm better now. Lol

I miss the character breakfast with the original characters, I don't really mind not having a ton of time with them - a high five with each kid and a few pics per table takes less than 3 minutes. But these Disney jr characters - ugh, No.

I would be happy to pay for an upgraded character breakfast option similar to the character breakfast restaurants in WDW with price point like Palo's upgrade charge - but they would really need to upgrade both the character experience and the food!

I think it's because the way they have it set up now, each character has to get to every table in the entire restaurant within 1 hour or whatever time they have allotted to the breakfast - I don't recall the # but it is less than 90 minutes isn't it? The only way to get more time per table would be fewer tables or limiting or staggering the reservations.

YES! They don't even have to have one character out in multiple places at the same time, but they need to send the main characters out a lot more especially on special dress up days. I have no chance of getting Mickey and Minnie in their formal wear if they're only out for two 20 minute time slots and there are 2000+ people on board - same for Pirate and Christmas ensembles, etc.

Magic 2012 first early seating breakfast with classic characters-we got plenty of pics and autographs. You had to be ready, but it was great

On my soap box.... Get rid of the autographs. What a waist of time!!!!
We were told at our character breakfasts we could get autographs OR photos. But not both. And to be ready for the characters when they arrive at the table (have autograph books/pens out and open to proper page, have camera out and on, ready to shoot.

The characters at our character breakfast (Alaska Wonder 6/15-22) were the usual suspects (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc) -- I do not recall seeing Disney Jr. characters come to our table.

I TOTALLY agree! We got ONE pic with Mickey and Minnie in their cruise outfits. The lines were so long on pirate night and formal night, I said forget that! We are not spending our cruise in long lines! DS was 12 months and not very patient. So, standing in line for more than an hour each time, all week was not going to happen. Lol
