I'm going to disneyland with my husband and daughter. It will be her first birthday so I was thinking about doing a character breakfast just the two of us since my husband will be busy with work stuff while we are there. I'm wondering which character breakfast would work best with one adult ad a one year old. I was thinking the breakfast at Ariel's Grotto but thought it might be awkward eating there by myself since they serve breakfast family style. Any suggestions or ideas?

I like all of the character meal (except Ariel's because I have yet to dine there). I would recommend Surf's up at PPH only because it has some of the classic Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy's, Stitch, Lilo (we often see at least 4 characters).
How ever my second favorite meal is Goofy's at DLH for dinner. I enjoy all of the food and the characters that are there as well. There is often one or two princesses we have seen here.
Whatever you do decide let them know it will be your little one's birthday and they will get a treat with a candle.

We did Minnies in the park for DD's 1st nirthday and loved it. Classic characters suitable for that age (Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Chip& Dale, Minnie plus Fairy God Mother, C. Hook and Gepetto). I also ;ile that ot os in park.
I have the greatest picture of chip playing peek a boo with her.
I would choose out of Surf's Up, Goofys kitchen and Minnies.

Our very first trip, son was 4 and daughter was 2, we did Minnie and Friends. We loved it! My son has never been into characters but my daughter just loves them and they both loved the experience. We do Minnie and Friends every visit now.
We did Ariels Grotto once so my daughter could see all the Princess'. The breakfast felt very rushed and the food was not great. Both kids barely ate. In my opinion , Ariels is for little girls to meet as many Princesses as they can and less focus on food. We will never go back as a family to Ariels but if my daughter wants to do it again one parent will take her. Its not that great.
I think you guys would love Minnie's or even Storytellers.

Another vote for Minnie & friends!

Food is very good (not the best but still very decent) but most of all, characters are all over the place!

In one visit, we once met over 10 characters in 30 minutes! It doesn't get any better! Plus, you get to have your breakfast in the park, which he's pretty cool right!?!

We did Surf's Up and Goofy's Kitchen and I would much prefer to go back to Surf's Up on many levels....the main one being the food. I did not enjoy the food at Goofy's and the character interaction really lacked for us. Surf's Up was wonderful, great character interaction and great food.

We brought our one year old to Surfs Up many years ago and she loved it! Lots of fun and good food! I can't compare it to any others though. I think you would enjoy it!

Thanks for all the advice! I think we will try out Minnie and friends and then try to do Surfs up with my husband on another trip! They both sound great, I'm so excited!
