Character Breakfast Pricing...

We paid for 6 to go to PCH Grill's character breakfast last time we went (there were 7 of us, but one was under 3). Yes, it was expensive, but the characters were fantastic and it was one of the best experiences we had there. My kids still talk about playing hula hoop with mickey and pluto. You have to decide what is worth the cost to you. And if it's not, then it's not. There are other things to do.

Wow. Ok. I see you asked a question. Got an answer. Didn't LIKE the answer, so you proceeded to vent and cut down Disney in your own fashion. Dissed local SoCal'ers (no pun intended) and then when they got defensive (which I don't blame, you snapped even more.

I don't understand at all. But I GUESS it's not my business? You are entitled to your own opinion I suppose....... but then, so are they. No?

One thing that has helped us budget-wise is to have a set amount we will be spending for the WHOLE trip. That's hotel, food, travel, tickets, souvenirs...everything! What we are doing is making an excel spreadsheet and plugging in the numbers. If I can save a bundle by rooting out the best deals on other stuff, I can plug in that Character Breakfast or that *special* splurge. And it's not nearly as painful because we are staying within budget to do it. We don't have a lot of money laying around either so $210 for breakfast does sound crazy (we are taking a party of 7 too). But like I said, if you budget everything out it can be a part of the big picture. Hope this helps! Just trying to be constructive :rolleyes1 We are passing on the Character Meal, by the way, and using our budget money elsewhere...probably on over-priced but FABULOUS souvenirs. It's not everyday we get to go to Disney, so we are going to do it "right"! I hope you have a good time :thumbsup2

Ouch! Do you feel better, now? With all due respect, when you contribute to the cost of my vacation then perhaps I would listen to you to your opinion. I seriously doubt you know my financial situation and what I deem to be fair and what I deem to be outrageously overpriced. I'm simply stating the obvious and if you are offended by my observations, then I'm sorry.

Like I have said before, I'll pass on the $210 overpriced breakfast and save MY money for something the family will enjoy and be just as memorable for one hours time.

that was a little below the belt. it was not deserved,

:rotfl: Hmmm, I don't think anyone here is going to contribute to the cost of your vacation. Sorry, thought you were looking for help, suggestions, advice...that's what these boards are typically for....not for whining and then getting angry or offended or whatever when someone doesn't whine with you.

I don't know your financial situation...and don't care. The cost is the same for all of us. I live in Arizona and have to pay full price for my APs too. Oh well....I probably go almost as many days a year as some Southern California APs, AND unlike many of them, I have to pay for hotels and loads more gas to get here. Yes, it's expensive, and yeah, we have to penny pinch quite often, but hey, eating breakfast in our room and knowing which places have large portions so we can share and not be hungry.....doing all kinds of crazy things to raise money to go back....it's all worth it to us the moment we walk down Main Street and see that Castle. I could stop right there, sit down and never move and have the greatest vacation ever. But I go with a happy heart....I moan a little about the costs but I certainly don't bash others who suggest ways to save money or even that maybe you're not ready for this.

So...don't listen....you're apparently more offended by my suggestion than I'll ever be by something you can say.......but don't come back and whine after your trip unless you're willing to see responses that say "I told you so.":rotfl2:

.. we all, including connie and airbelle were just trying to help you. and i am sorry but what you said to them was kinda not nice..

I don't know guys, i think that we have helped and tried to help, but it's just not needed..

I get that, however they are essentially charging at least twice the price of a meal then paying some high school kids minimum wage to wear the costume. I think I can get the same benefit inside the park for $210 they would profit from me. Am I being stingy, certainly. Will my boys experience at Disneyland be any different because of it? Most certainly not.

Then don't go, its your choice:confused3

Honestly a childs vacation is more likely to be ruined by an angry parent then not seeing a character while they are eating. I hope you guys have a nice vacation.

Okay, guys - this has gotten way out of hand. It's bad enough when one person starts using a 'tone' that's offends people, but when more folks start doing it and other people pile on and start doing it too....sigh....It's just not necessary and you all should really know better.:sad2: It drags the whole thread down. This is not that kind of board.

This is an online community and many people will not get along - simply based on what they say in their posts. But since this is not the Wild, Wild West and there is not going to be a shootoout at sundown or a verbal brawl on the DIS, we have to try to ignore the people we don't get along with or just simply not respond to them. It's that simple.

So with that I am going to shut this thread down. I think the initial question of the pricing was answered.
