We’ve narrowed it down to these 2. Mainly due to online reviews and list of possible characters there and also we’re staying at PPH. Which would you suggest between these 2?

Since you are staying at the PPH, I would go to Surf's Up!

We have done both and I would say, SU has better food, Minnie's has more characters. However, we had great interactions with Stitch that more than made up for not seeing very many.

The only downside to PPH is that it costs more and it is inconvenient to get to, unless you are staying at the PPH. There is also the bonus of not missing peak park time in the morning (assuming you are able to get a reservation to SU before park hours).

We did both on our last trip. So Minnie had more characters... but less well known to my son. You are Garunteed Mickey at surfs up, but it’s also known as the only place to find stitch - which was a big hit for my son. We also got Minnie at surfs up and there was a dance party and we thought the food was better.

We enjoyed Minnie’s though and did a 710 breakfast on a non magic morning day so we got into the park early and could use maxpass from our breakfast table to book a fastpass right off the bat since your scanned into the park to eat there.

Brilliant! We used to do a version of this in WDW before they let people in earlier and earlier. We will give this idea a try in October. Totally agree about the decision between mass characters at Minnie's and the fun interactions at Surfs Up!. We love the unique encounters at Minnie's, but also love the vibe at Surfs Up!

I would do Mickey's Surf's Up on the day we left and we didn't have access to the parks. This way, we could take our time eating and having fun with the characters. It's a nice way to spend your last hours before heading home. I would do Minnie & Friends after spending MM in the parks, especially when it is a 7am MM. This way, the family is hungry and ready to sit, eat, chat and laugh for a bit without wanting to hit the rides before lines get too long and the park gets too crowded. Either way, I know you and yours will have a great time!

I did both in the last six months and I would have to go back and check my bank statements but I feel like they cost the same amount.

Yes, you are correct, I looked it up and it looks like Surf's Up was $3 more for adults. $37 for Surf's Up versus $34 for Minnie's.

I thought the price difference was more than that or I wouldn't have even bothered to mention it. :). I guess I was basing it on buying the vouchers ahead of time. Get Away Today has Minnie's at $37 for adults and $48 for SU.

Wait, so buying vouchers ahead of time is more expensive than paying on your own?

I think it might be. I remember seeing the prices at Minnie's our last trip and thinking it seemed like less than we paid for our vouchers. Some people claim they are the same, some say they save a few bucks, but I'm not so sure they do.

I wonder if the savings is based on them assuming you are paying a high tip amount or something..?

We've done Minnie's and it was great, tons of characters! Food was ok but we were there for characters. This time we are trying Surf's Up because my DD is dying to see Stitch and he's been there this year so far. Fingers crossed he's there on April 11th!!!

Yes but vouchers include tax and gratuity. They offered us vouchers when we booked PPH but we turned them down since my mom has a signature plus passport so we’re gonna use her discount.

They’re both great, you can’t go wrong. Do what you think your kid will prefer for characters.

Unless you are tipping more than 20% the vouchers still cost more than just paying yourself, for Surf's Up at least. Wild!

No, that was the just the price. Tax and tip added on to that (I also had an AP discount).

Thank you!! It looks like the voucher will save us a little bit. The price I saw last time must have been pre-tax/tip. I wasn't sure if they just charged a flat amount that included those or not. :)
