Has anyone done a character breakfast without kids? I am travelling to DL with my fiance in September and I wanted to do some type of character meal while we're there. Would it look strange for two adults without kids to be dining there?

It sounds like fun!

Mom and I did Goofy's Kitchen without kids for breakfast. The Divas did Ariel's Grotto and the Storytellers Cafe without kids. I did the divas Ariel event and did Ariel's Grotto alone. People are there to eat and meet characters. As long as you are not dressed as a chipmunk you will be fine.:lmao: The kids love Chip and Dale, I am teasing about the costume of course. You are welcome to meet and greet the characters and my mother had a good time talking to the Mad Hatter at Goofy's.

Dh does not like counter service. We do all of the meals. And we all want to see characters as it makes us feel more Dinseyesque. I'm sure we are not alone as I see people without kids all of the time. So you will not have a million eyes on you as so many folks do it for so many different reasons. Have fun!

We do it all the time. When we look around at other couples w/o kids, we soon realize that we're not alone doing this.

I routinely do character meal without kids. I've never received any strange looks. Don't worry about what other people are thinking. Just go and have fun!

We don't have kids and do character meals all the time at WDW. We've got Minnie's scheduled at DL in May, and I don't expect to get one crazy look! Have fun!!!!!!! :goodvibes

My DD (20) and I went last year, this was the first time we had a girls only trip to DLR, we figure if we ask DH and DS to do a character breakfast they would have thought we lost our mind. We did the Storytellers Cafe and really enjoyed it, only thing was there wasn't as many character's there. Go and enjoy yourself.

I have no kids, so all of my character meals are adults only! It's great. We never feel weird when the furry characters approach up, because they are hamming it up in character. I will gladly throw my arms around any animal character for a huge hug in a picture. But when the face characters approach, it can be a little odd when they talk to us and have to stay in character like they would with kids. So I like to kind of give them a nod and let them off the hook a little. One time Jasmine sauntered over to our table at Goofy's (and my friend hates the Princesses and other face characters, so she groaned), and Jasmin started in on her typical speech, but I think she could see that we weren't as enchanted as the kids would be, so she sort of dropped the 'act' for a minute and said, "So do you want a picture or not?" It was funny. I imagined her thinking, "Ugh. Why do I have to waste my time on adults?" I mean, we were very nice to her, and had a laugh or two, but we just were not googly-eyed like we would be if we were kids.

We will be doing our frist character meal without kids shortly. We are very excited about it. We are doing the Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn. Our young adult kids think we're nuts but oh well. It's great to feel like a kid again.

I have no kids, so every character meal I've attended since I *was* a kid has been adults only  I've gone with my parents, with friends, and once by myself; there were no odd looks from anyone...everyone is too busy enjoying their meal! Now, you'd probably get some funny looks if you got up to dance with Goofy or Stitch etc, but maybe not, other adults would probably just assume that you were there with kids:rotfl:

If you want something low key, then I would recommend Storyteller's cafe (not a lot of characters and it is less chaotic). For lots of characters (classic ones), the Plaza inn is definitely the place to be. It seemed a little too noisy for my DH & I. Oh, the restaurant in Paradise Pier Hotel has a character breakfast, too. This one is not as noisy but had a good number of characters.

DH and I have gone to GK many times...our trip to DL just isn't complete without a character meal...it's not weird at all...in fact, on our most recent trip, Pluto was there for pics prior to being seated...the couple behind us didn't take a pic with him and he really put on a cute, pouty show about being ignored :rotfl:

Go, have fun...it is definitely worth it!

DBF and I do all our character meals "adults only" since we have no kids. And we have a blast!! The characters spend just as much time with us as they do to the table next to us that has 3 kids. We've done 2 with my parents (Ariel's and Lilo and Stitch) and they had a lot of fun as well.

DW and I did it at WDW before we had the kids and it was a blast. I feel like they actually mess with the adult only tables more (Play with your hats, more slapstick, etc...) since they know we get it a little more than kids would which makes it a fun and funny experience. Definetly recommend. pirate:
