okay okay i'm still a rookie but from what i've gathered so far is that moring is the best time to get into the park due to crowd levels. yet i hear alot about breakfast at NOS or character breakfast. is this counter productive or is this one of those secerts where its all about timing.

We are struggling with this issue at DL! The breakfast hours seem shorter than at WDW and I don't want to cut into valuable morning time ... yet the boys are clamoring for the Plaza breakfast. The only option that might work for us is to make the last seating (10:30 am, according to a CM at Dining) on a MM ... except that is also the morning we have to do Toontown because we don't have the Toontown Madness tix. It's all making my head spin.

We are doing Goofy's Kitchen another day but it does offer breakfast later than anyplace else during our trip. They close at noon on weekdays, 2 pm weekends. Maybe that would be an option for you?

I look forward to hearing what the DL vets say!

We did Minnie & Friends in the park on our last trip. We didn't feel like it took any of our time away, in fact we regretted GK most because we had to walk so far and it took so long. We much prefer M&F or Ariel's Grotto in DCA or even Lilo & Stitch at PP, altho that is much farther away.
fwiw, we had the 10:30 seating for M&F so we did get some fun in before breakfast and we were all hungry enough to eat too! LOL

we did the breakfast with minnie at 9:30am and it was fantastic. my dd loved all the characters and we set off to ride the rides just fine. it didnt interupt our schedule at all. good luck and have lots of fun!

we have a lunch at ariels grotto. maybe we will do a later breakfast on one of the last days then. it's kinds diffacult to plan all this stuff cause you need to do it a month in advance and try to do it at times that don't interfere with other things like parades or shows

We do Goofy's Kitchen for dinner the first day we're there. Instead of paying for an extra day to go into DL/DCA, we still get some Disney magic and are all ready for the next day!

well we thought of that but figured we could get in at 4pm and get the 6 day pass versus the 5 for only $25 more(for all 5) so we will hit the park for 1/2 day on the first day.

saw goofies kitchen does brunch till noon(mon-fri) so if i did a ps for 1030-1130 time frame then we would get park time in the morning before. now i'm not staying at the hotel but will be in the park can we still take the monorail to and from the hotel????

and who's usally at goofies kitchen?????

can somebody confirm the price for goofies kitchen???? on allears i see a menu and price from jan 2008 and when i look at disneyland booking theres like a $20 differenc

We love breakfast in the park. Often we'll have a very light breakfast at the hotel (muffin / bagel and some fruit). Its usually pretty early, around 7 or so depending on what time the park opens. Then around 10 or 11 we have a big breakfast at Minnies (Plaza), Riverbell Terrace or Cafe Orleans. By that time we've had 2-3 hours to play and are hungry for some real food. Then we typically have a snack type lunch rather then a full meal.

I love not leaving the park to eat, as when I do leave I feel like I'm wasting valuable time.

iron, allears tends to list things without tax. But when I was given the price for the Ariel b'fast when making the PS, she included tax AND tip in the price. That might be the difference.

jenjersnap, can you explain this a bit further..."that is also the morning we have to do Toontown because we don't have the Toontown Madness tix." ? Maybe we can help you with scheduling?

Since we're discussing Character breakfasts (again :lmao:) I might as well ask about Lilo and Stitch.

I guess I let DD watch too much Disney Channel when I use to have to get her up earlier and she always got to see the Lilo and Stitch cartoon. But we haven't seen them in the parks and I know she would love to get pic with them. I'm assuming they'll be at their own breakfast?

My question is, when DL opens later such as 10am, is it possible to do the breakfast before park opening?

bumbershoot i sometimes forget about tax:rotfl: i see that per disney that all character breakfasts are one price. so i have been to the plaza before and we liked it. never been to goofies kitchen before. so if you where to choose 1 over the other whats your opion.

We did Lilo/Stitch b'fast before going to DL on our first day at the parks in September. I got a little stressed b/c I wanted to be there earlier than we ended up being (b/c even with Priority Seating we waited for AGES for our table!), but yes, Lilo and Stitch were there. Daisy, too. :)

And they have rice in a rice cooker, and pineapple coconut scones.

I haven't been to either! I would probably go to the Plaza, but that's just b/c, well, I don't know why, I just have nothing drawing me to Goofy's for some reason! We've gone to the Lilo b'fast and Storyteller's, and we're going to Ariel's b'fast in a month (DS's request for his birthday, the boy wants lipstick kisses on his cheeks, I guess!), but the two you're asking about I haven't been to. :)

lilo and stitch might be a good one now i'm thinking about it. with early entry into toon town we'll see mickey and his pals. and with a res for ariels thats the princesses. so can i hop on the monorail in the park and get dropped off at downtown disney and walk??? and do the reverse back to the park??? i think my boy would love the monrail.

If you are in Tomorrowland already, that might be a good way to get to PP.

But if you're not there or further "back" than TL, I would probably just walk out of DL, go into DTD, and enter GCH between Sephora and Libby Lu. Then you walk through the corridor until you enter the GCH lobby, make a right and go out the big beautiful "stained glass" automatic doors, and you'll see PP across the street. Walk out GCH's driveway, cross at the light, and go in to PP.

To go on the monorail then walk to and past DLH, then along the pathways to PP's back entrance, to me, might be longer than just walking. UNLESS you are right there in Tomorrowland to catch the monorail.

It's all so complicated to think about when you're not there. :goodvibes

Ariel's is princesses, yes.

Love the monorail, I really hope the new one is up and running for our trip next month...

Well, sure, I am always up for any advice! We will be at DL from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday night. Since Toontown Madness happens on Mondays and Wednesdays, we thought we'd be doing Toontown on Tuesday, an MM day (we'll be attending) in which Toontown will open at 10 a.m. if I have my facts straight. This would be the day we'd like to plan the M&F breakfast but there is an obvious time conflict if M&F's last seating is 10:30 ... am I missing something? Thanks!

Can we get breakfast with characters if it's not included in our room booking? Or an early entry?
If so where/ how :) We are going 5/14-5/18
