Character autographs?

I had the characters sign a 4"x4" scrapbook, which was spiral bound, from Michael's. I intend to make a small scrapbook out of that with the picture of the characters signing and posing with Ds on the page that they signed. But I hadn't stretched my mind to what you are suggesting. But I think if you wanted to add the signature to a bigger scrapbook you could just cut out the page from the smaller book which has the right paper, and is the right size for getting autographs, and paste it into your other book.
Just an idea.

I just returned from WDW - my kids used 7x7 CM books and the characters loved them! They made more elaborate signatures w/doodles that were really cute. The kids had each character sign on either the left or right page & will add pictures to the opposite page. Each of the kids had the characters use an archival pen.

As for the family scrapbook, I took along "mat stack" cards for the characters to sign. Used a small clipboard to give them a firm surface to write on if a table wasn't available. I picked up a handy photo holder at Michaels to store the cards in so that they wouldn't get all mucked up during travel. I did have to trim some of the cards ahead of time in order for them to fit in the album but it worked out great!

Hope this helps!

Ditto on the 7x7 CM book. Except I just let the characters sign wherever on there pages becasue they loved it so much. I cut a few pictures to add around it and then for the rest I'm just going to add a few extra pages. My daugter was a little scared of some of the characters and is not in those pictures and my son would not go near the princess so he is not in those. But I highly recommend a 7X7 album.

I cut white scrapbook paper into 4 sections (81/2 x 11 paper) and then use a clipboard to put it on when the characters are autographing. My scrapbook that I did for my MIL, I scanned the autographs and then printed them on paper that went with the page I was doing. Using all white autograph paper with colored and themed paper would of not worked.

I'm hoping to do this on my next trip to WDW. I would love to see spme pictures of your albums .

This past August my grandkids used discontinued 5x7 CM albums. We had the characters sign both sides of the pages. I am now in the process of adding decorated *photo* pages between the signature pages so I have character photos on one side and the matching autograph on the facing page. The pages that I've done look really cute.

For our upcoming January trip I have purchased a Cranson 6x6 spiral album from Michael's for the kids to use to collect autographs ... am planning on having them take turns handing the book and pen to the characters and will get a *group* photo.

Then when I get home I'm going to incorporated the autographs, character photos and trip photos into a 7x7 CM "Starzz" album. The Starzz album has blue pages with red jeeping ... perfect for Disney and quick to complete.

I haven't finished my 2002 WDW album, haven't even begun to think about the 469 photos I took in 2003 ... still working on the kids autograph albums from 2003 (they collected 51 autographs each) ... so I want to make a very simple album to comemorate our January trip and get it done asap so the kids and Pepaw can enjoy it.

What are the best type of pens for the characters to use? I was just thinking of buying the fat pens that are usually sold beside the autograph books in WDW. I think I've also read that Sharpie markers are good as well ... do those go through the page?

We took a couple of CM black round tip pens as they won't fade, but the kids were dangerous with them ... they marked themselves and me a couple of times ... luckily the characters went unscathed.
