Many people have mentioned getting a large marker for the Characters to use when signing autographs, since many have....uh....abnormally large fingers!
I was planning on having them sign 4x6 inch card that I can then put into the kids' Disney scrapbooks, but is this size going to be difficult for them to manage? I will have a semi-hard covered notebook along with me, but should I have something else or take larger pages?

Also, is it silly to collect some siggys for my 1 year old? The boys will each have their own "books", but since this is also her first trip, I feel sort of badly excluding her from the souvenier aspect of things. It won't mean anything now, but when she's older, it might. Whadya think? I'm always concerned with treating all the kids as equally as possible, but is doing an autograph book for an infant going just a tad too far??:hippie:

When we went last year, it was ds's first trip and he had just turned 2. We did not do a book for him, just for my daughter. This year, I think we are going to let him have a book. But we aren't going to do one for my dd2, she will only be 6 months by then, and I figure we will do one for her when she can start remembering our trips to DL. She will be in pictures and I will buy her outfits and souveniers, she just won't have her own autograph book until she is older.

I think so long as you have something sturdy underneath the card you should be fine. They can sign on the little pages in the autograph books...which I think are about that size! I've also never had an issue with them using a normal sized pen - maybe bring both just in case?

As for you DD - that's completely up to you. If you think maybe you won't be back for her to get one - I would DEF do it. However, I don't think it would be silly - even if you will be back! I'm 28 and I have my own autograph books!! If I don't think THAT'S silly...I certainly think you're fine doing it for her! I always skip a page though - and add a picture of myself and the character on the facing page. Yes...even sillier.

Anyways - just have fun and don't worry about something being Silly or not. After all - you're getting the autographs of big furry animals and Princesses... it's just supposed to be fun. Actually - it's probably SUPPOSED to be silly!!

I took a Sharpie pen the last time we went for the characters to use. I made sure I informed each of the characters that it was a sharpie before I handed it to them. I was so worried it would permanetly mark their fur! I'd say "Ok, now Pooh, this pen is a Sharpie so you will want to be real careful." I'm such a mom!:sad2:

My older son was just 19 months when we went to Disneyland for the first time. He doesn't remember it, but we got both the kids autograph books. He LOVES his! They both have pictures with the autographs, and he still likes to look at them. He's 4 now. When we were there, he couldn't say more than 10 words, but he sure got into the autographs. He insisted we get an autograph from "Buh", aka Buzz Lightyear. When we found Buzz, he was dancing in Club Buzz, and not doing autographs yet. My son, of course, didn't understand this, and kept grabbing the autograph book out of the stroller and running up to Buzz. When I told my son we should come back later, he cried and insisted we wait. We wound up chasing Buzz all over Tomorrowland, until his handler took pity on us, and let Buzz sign Ds' autograph book.

Does my ds remember any of this? Nope. But do I think a one year old is too young for an autograph book? No way! My youngest son will be about the same age, 19-20 months, when we go this summer, and he's definitely getting his own autograph book, too. With pictures!

well i took my son at 1 in half and i bought him a book. The charcters seemed fine useing the big mickey pen i got his first time.
This next time his books are full so were buying the photo ones. but were each getting one. My fionce dosent rember doing the autographs when he was young so we decied to have fun this next trip like were kids.

I would get one for your daughter. That way you can put pictures with the autograph and she can enjoy it when she is older. princess:

Hey - not silly at all - exactly what I intend to do for the kids' books, except I am taking it a step farther and doing an entire mini-scrapbook for their autograph books - complete with photos, the autographs, embellishments and fancy paper! Now if that isn't silly, I'm not sure what is!!:rotfl:
