Character Autographs

Okay...not sure if this is the right spot to post this, sorry if it's not!

This might be a silly question, but is there an age limit as to who can get character autographs and pictures? Is this just a kid thing or can adults do this too? I really wanted to get pictures and autographs for my scrapbook, but not sure if I should! Your input would be wonderful!

I saw lots of adults in line for autographs and pictures. Have a wonderful time, take lots of pictures and scrap your memories!

The characters are there for all ages. I've been yanked into a picture by Chip when I tried to just have the kid in it.

Some of the funniest interactions I've seen with characters included adults. Go for it, you won't be alone.

I've gotten autographs for the scrapbook, too. They don't care how old you are. I've seen grown women getting their shirts and hats signed.

Last year a friend and I went without the kids and husbands and we had a blast getting character autographs. We were first in line for Jasmine and Aladain. Aladain stole my pen and would not give it back and Jasmine accused me of calling her husband a thief. It took about 5 mintues to get my pen back. It was one of those markers that have a push tab to go on and off and Aladain thought it was a great magic pen. I did feel bad for taking so much time with little kids waiting in line, but my friend was rolling laughing throughout the experience. Go and have a blast!

I'm 20 and bf is 22 and we always do an autograph book. I love the characters. I take the autographs I get and make a small scrapbook of just the autographs and photos of the characters.

I was about to respond to this thread to discuss how my GF and I see characters despite being adults, but it looks like somebody (fAnnF) has beat me to it.

The first time I went to Disney, I was very apprehensive about meeting the characters... thought it was a kid thing too. I've gotten better about the "head" characters, but I still don't like talking to the face characters.

With the head characters... go for it, have a blast... if you find ones that don't have (much of) a line, you can get them to do some really fun things... like chipmunks hiding behind a 3-inch wide pole.

My son's kindergarten teacher sent out photos of her posed with Mickey to welcome the students before school. It was very cute! And (gasp) she's older than I am!

A funny story - my parents went to Disney (they were in their 50's) and saw a line. Figuring it was something good, they got in line, too. To their surprise, when they got closer to the front of the line, it was a character meet/greet with Aladdin and Jasmine. They were a bit embarrassed, but weren't sure how to exit with dignity, so they proceeded to the front. When I asked,"What then?" my mom replied, "we shook hands." When she told us, all my dad could manage was a shy smile.

Of course not! In fact, I was in line to see the MTR characters at MGM, and there was an older couple behind me (with no kids).

I'm a kindergarten teacher. I used pictures of Mickey and me and of Pooh and me to make my student's Valentine's this year. One parent said that her child has the pic framed and in his room.

I imagine they've seen everything. I've seen adult guests bring the characters gifts...

48 year old guy here and on my solo trip last week I still made some time to get some autographs. Usually whenever I saw a character with no line I'd head on over and grab an autograph and sometimes even a picture.

Just because I have to grow old it doesn't mean I have to grow up.

Gosh, I get many character autographs per trip, and I never think twice about it! And I am not exactly a kid ... If I ever feel a tad awkward, I may mention to the characters that the autographs are for my nephew. The only problem that sometimes occur is that often the people behind me in the character's line assume that I am just "standing there" or that I am with the family in front of me, so they just cut right around me. This has happened to me many times over the years - people assume you aren't really in line if you don't have a kid.

But most of the time, getting autographs is fun!

The character turning point for me is all due to Goofy:
I was wearing a mildly funny shirt (that said 'Eat, Sleep, Exercise' with a guy with a remote in front of a TV for 'Exercise') and Goofy made this big production of it. He waved his escort/assistant over to read my shirt, played around sitting on a bench pretending to watch TV, and a number of other things. Whether or not 'he' really found it funny or it was just for show... I loved it.

Yes sometimes getting your picture made with the characters is the highlight of the trip even for the adult. This past weekend was my birthday weekend at WDW and I waited over an hour to have my picture made with Jasmine and to get her autograph. I carry a BIC click Sharpie with me when I go to the parks. She sign one of the maps Happy Birthday and wished me one as well.
