Initially, I was not going to do this. All the times I went to WDW when I was young my parents never helped me, but after reading what I think to be nearly every guidebook in existance, I feel compelled to help DD (age 5) do this.

I have a book, but my question is just how "fat" of a "fat pen" do I need? I bought a ball point (actually 2) from the Disney store. They have princesses on them and some little balls in the pen. Will these be okay for the characters to use, or do I need to get something else?

Thanks so much, and thanks to everyone who posts. This board is a tremendous help!

We used the 4 color fat pens and they seemed to work well. The kids liked changing colors with the different characters. I'm not sure what kind of pen you are describing but if it compares to one of those 4 color click pens, than it should be fine.

Technically any pen is okay. It is just that the fatter ones are easier to hold on to for the characters. I think the autograph books are a great thing. My son (10) is starting to grow out of it though.
