Chapped lips..... very chapped... better than Blistex?

bag balm is great for dry chapped hands. I don't know how I feel about putting on my lips though :rotfl2:

Blistex actually makes my lips worse. I like the Neutrogena Lip stuff.

I used Aquaphor on my lips while I took Accutane a few years back. I put it on at night and it really helped. During the day, I HAD to have chap stick on me at all times. That tube will alst a looooong time.

From the TMI department: I also put some Aquaphor on a q-tip and put it in my nose when I am in a dry environment or my sinuses are bothering me. I live in a very moist climate and dry air hurts my nose! :sunny:

Another Carmex vote. I don't use it daily, but it works wonders and lasts after an application (tastes horrible so you're not tempted to lick your lips).

Personally, I find that good old Vaseline Petroleum Jelly works the best. I had some severe chapped lips this year and it did wonders.

Vaseline fan too.I tried Burt's Bees Balm this winter & it worked well.

Another vote for carmex.
I also have a little tip that has helped me from getting chapped lips.
To exfoliate your lips rub them with a wet clean wash cloth. I try to remember to do this everytime I shower. It really does help.

Best stuff out there.

I thought I heard at one time not to use any lip balms that end in EX as they have actual drying agents in them or something that may not necessarily help your lips, hence the addiction!

I agree Burts Beeswax is good for everyday use. However, when it gets really bad like mentioned in the original post, I would try the aquaphor.

This is what I use too. I put it on before bedtime and haven't had chapped lips in years. Can't go a day without my Carmex! :sunny:

I am glad to know I am not the only carmex freak out there!

Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil. This stuff is amazing! Dh had severely cracked lips and this helped him. We found it in the chapstick section at Walmart. It's in an Aqua tube.

Another satisfied customer here for Aquaphor. The stuff if great. :thumbsup2 Give it a try.

Aquaphor - it's made by Eucerin and can be found at the drug store near the creams and lotions. Our pediatrician recommended it.

It works wonders for chapped and dry skin, including lips. It is a thick ointment, and I use it on my daughter, Emily. Her lips get very chapped in the winter, and she picks them, which makes them bleed. I put it on her at night (when she is asleep, because she doesn't like it), and her lips are 100% improved by morning. When they get really bad, they are usually fully-healed within three days.

I second this! Aquaphor is an absolute miracle, and I tried EVERYTHING, including Burt's Bees (which is my second favorite), Carmex, Vaseline, etc!

If I could only have one single thing with me on a deserted island for all eternity, the hubby and kids would have to take a backseat to medicated chapstick. :thumbsup2
