Chaos PTR

Oh wow, thank you so much for visiting ^_^ Not used to anyone stopping by :lmao:

Yeah, I was surprised my dad didn't either, we tried to steer him towards Coral Reef though ... we tried so hard. But it also makes sense because from what we read, Ohana dinner is very similar to this brazillian restaurant that he LOVES that's downtown. So not horribly surprising but also rather funny.
Big tough guy wants to go to Ohana :rotfl2:

Do any of your dining reservations match ours? It would be great to run into each other even if they don't match ... perhaps epcot? Since EVERYONE is going for the F&W of course :)

Our days look like they don't match. We arrive Sunday (11/3) and we don't have any park plans, but we are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Monday we are doing Epcot and eating at Garden Grill, and Tuesday is AK, with dinner at Jiko. We do have hoppers, so we may visit Epcot on Tuesday night for Illumination and some more F&W. Or maybe just W:goodvibes

Awe dang, that would have been fun to say hello.

Oh! 1900 Park Fare! I've been wanting to go there for a while but other restaurants just work better. Are you going for Breakfast or Dinner?

Hahaha just the W is sometimes the perfect pairing for Illiuminations ;)

Got our tickets in the mail for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on October 31st ^_^

Dude, I need to update the first couple posts ... they are rather outdated ...

Okay, so mine and my husband's 5th Anniversary is coming up here in the end of July and I figured out the PERFECT gift :D

First, a little back story;
DH and I got married almost 5 years ago, I was 21 and he was 22 and we had our Honeymoon at WDW :goodvibes Caribbean Beach Resort ... before the pirate rooms! We were so vastly underprepared that we had no idea epcot had rides (we spent most of our time in the Japan pavilion) and didn't even venture to AK or HS.
Jon (DH) was very excited to go to AK, as was I, but it just didn't work with our limited time and our mega jet lag.
Fastforward 2 years and we were coming back to WDW for our 3rd anniversary (with a close friend, see TR in siggy) and we were FINALLY able to do AK, but we were so hot and tired that it was only a half day thing (this was utalizing rope drop and fast passes).
Then, last year, we went for our first ever Food & Wine Fest and MNSSHP! Again, we planned a day for AK but only was there for about half a day (and that was mostly just tracking down a cute stuffed thumper for me!).

So now, we are going back to WDW with our family and we were discussing parks and DH turns to me and says "Animal Kingdom is my favorite park" What?! Really? I thought he liked it, but not loved it. Well, I feel REALLY bad for always making his favorite park a half day when we do full days in all of the other parks.

My solution? Backstage Safari Tour :) YUP! I purchased a BSS for DH for our anniversary, we won't be able to go on it until Nov. 1st but it will be something exciting for him :) I had to secretly add an extra parkhopper day to our reservation so we could even do this (thank goodness for the Disney Visa discount).

I'm REALLY excited to give it to him! As a physical present to give, I'm giving him a Stitch Pin, seen here, that will somehow help seal the 'invitation' to the safari :yay:
Stitch is his FAVORITE Character and he loves all the characters in safari garb :)

SO, that's my plan!!

If you're keeping an eye on my schedule, yeah, we're doing the waterpark on Nov. 1st as well, so we booked an early (8:30am) safari and I plan to take a taxi from POFQ to AK that morning, which will cut time and let us sleep more/have breakfast, then most likely taking a taxi or regular transport to the waterpark to meet the rest of the family there :goodvibes

Hurrah for BoG!!
Thank you for the reminder about tickets - off to order mine for the 20th!
That's so nice about the Safari - we've never done it! Looking forward to hearing all about how great it is!

Wow congrats on the BOG reservations! I cannot seem to get in to that darn place. It's looking like I might have to go there for lunch one day and brave the long lines. Looks like you have a really good food lineup set for your trip.

The Backstage Safari sounds awesome! What a wonderful anniversary present! Hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

Huzzah indeed!! :) You're quite welcome about the reminder ^_^
Yes, I WILL be doing a Trip Report and the Safari will be in it. I"m excited to experience it as well as share it! :goodvibes

Thank you ^_^ I took a screencap of the reservation cause I couldn't believe it lol. I was recovering from surgery when I booked it and I was like trying to jump around but my husband wouldn't let me lol

I heard the lunch goes pretty smooth despite the long lines. I've also heard that you want to try 2 days before up until you're actually at the park to try and get a 'last minute' reservation. I don't know if it works though :confused3

Thanks! There are a few places on the list I would not have booked on my own, but that's the fun in trying someone else's pick, you might find something new you like :)

Thanks so much!! I hope we do too ... I hope he likes it!

OKAY so I'm like so jazzed o.o

I already told you guy(s) about part of my plan for DH's anniversary present ... but I'm HOPING there's more!

So DH LOVES AK (I've found out so much more than I thought ) and I may have to switch the backstage safari ... I might not. We'll see.
But what I REALLY want to do now is go 1 day early (depart the 29th) and stay in a DVC at AKL for savannah view! I mean, just one night would be AMAZING! Don't you think? We'd just spend the whole day enjoying the resort ... THEN I can move the safari to Oct. 30th :)
I'm still checking though, not sure if there are any even left for the date :scared:

Oh and the stitch pin and piece of paper explaining all this? Yeah, it's going to be in a pyramid box that is decorated as Giraffe spots!!! :woohoo: Yeah, awesome!

Well, we've also decided to have a more romantic aspect of our anniversary the following day cause ... it's hard to be romantic with the rest of the family lol.
So DH proposed to me at a restaurant called The Melting Pot, and we have a branch here in SLC. So we're thinking of going there to be all romantical and then BAM, I hit him with a romantic present!
I actually haven't told anyone about this before, not even my family :upsidedow

Okay, the theme is from Hunger Games, which we both have read all 3 books. Without ruining too much, the Dandelion becomes a romantic symbol to us because of the ending of the series.
I decided to get him a metal cuff with a quote from the book that basically states that he is my dandelion in the spring :cloud9:
The cuff is like a bracelet. But made of pure metal and it stamped with the words. You know, more manly.
I just can't figure out the box/container to present it in.
Any ideas? I was thinking something handmade?

Anyways, unless you've read the series you may not understand the romanticness of it all but yeah, that's it :)

Dude it is SO HARD to rent DVC x.x People take FOREVER to get back to you that are renting x.x

I really want just one night at AKL, just one.

In the mean time, I heard rumors that Free Dining MAY come out in July (according to my TA). I hope so!

WHOOH! In the process of reserving a DVC villa at animal kingdom lodge :)

Well, I'm updating now ^_^

Had my Birthday at Disneyland and DH and I will be having our 5 year anniversary this Saturday/Sunday.

In regards to this trip, since I last updated, it has been the center of a lot of turmoil in my family. My family (mother, father, sister) are having issues being in the same room together :( Hopefully they'll fix it.
But I got my mother to promise to commit or say nay by Aug. 15th, which is a month before final payment. Hopefully free dining will come out and we'll get a better idea on price.

There is a chance we may have to cancel due to my father loosing his job. BUT he recently got his license thingie so hopefully he'll be able to get back into the job thing soon.

So, that's the update. I suppose I'll update more enthusiastically when I know for sure if we're going or not.

Okay so this PTR is now just for me and my husband. Things happened so the rest of my family couldn't go :(

But, on the good news: I was able to successfully transfer my BOG reservation to another family and the Ohana dinner rezzie partially to another family :)
So that turned out very well!!

Now I'm just constantly checking to get a pre-rope drop rezzie at Crystal Palace (Nov. 3rd) and a 6 - 7pm reservation at Akershus (Nov. 4th) ^_^

Whooh!
Scored a pre rope drop ressie for Crystal Palace last week ^_^
Also was just able to get a 6:55pm Akershus ressie early this morning.

Goals achieved!

Not that anyone is reading this ...

but we only have about $650 left to pay on our trip ^_^ Almost there!

I will follow :wave2:!

I feel the same way about my PTR, but I am having fun writing it! And I love reading they TRs and PTRs I have gotten so many great ideas!

Just quickly caught up! I am so glad I stumbled upon this!

How is the 5k training going? My husband and I have been working hard to get in shape, and Disney has been a great inscentive. Although out walks stopped this summer while the temps were above 100, but today we had some cool weather and took our first "Disney walk" as we call them.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. My sister in law has battled with fertility issues for years, but is finally pregnant (with No iVf!) but she did have surgery before has and her pregnancy had been very difficulty (she is currently in the hospital). But the little guy is 24 weeks today so if they can keep her from going in to labor for a couple more weeks things are looking up.

Now onto actual Disney things! I am really hoping I get a crystal palace morning reservation before the park opens. I have t been there. I hope you do a tR so I can hear all about it!

And now my son is being a wild man, so I will end this long post!

I'm here too! Hard to reply with a squirmy baby. I remember those trips where it was just the two of us - you're going to have such a good time! Congrats on getting the reservations you wanted!!

Thank you! :) Kind of stopped the walking and training because I won't be able to do it. What really stopped it was my surgery. Though, I hope when my health is better and we have the finances, that I can do a Disney Marathon weekend run one day :)

Congratulations to your sister! I really wish her a safe pregnancy :flower:

I PROMISE that I will do a TR! Never had a reservation so early before the park opens, so I'm super jazzed! I will be sure to take photos AND videos :goodvibes

Thank you so much for posting! I'll take a look at your TR too! :yay:
