Channg lead guest at check-in

Last year we booked two rooms at the Poly for this November on a bounceback offer. The second room is for my brother's family, but becasue of bounceback booking rules the lead guest on the two rooms are myself for one and DH for the other. The deal we got was 35% off room rate, so works out better for us than FD or the proposed RO rate for the Poly that is rumore dto come out tomorrow.

There is a chance because of DH's work schedule that he won't be able to go. I have had no luck switching the lead guest name to my brother over the phone - not that I expected to be able to with the bounceback booking rules.

I did hear that if the lead guest can not check in, another adult in the room could become the lead guest at check in. Is this true? Has anyone been able to do this? Or if worst case scenario happens and DH can't make it do they check ID at check in or just get a credit card? Pretty sad that I have been 5 times and can't remember if they do this...

A lead guest is just that; that is the way Disney sees it. If you cannot change it now, most likely you will not be able to change it at check-in.

A few years ago, I went with my neighbors and their roomies to celebrate my neighbor returning from Afghanistan. I was strongly urged by the CM to book the ressie in his wife's name just in case he was unable to return. If you read the contract that comes with the ressie, it specifically states about the lead person being there at check-in.

I'd agree with this. Any changes go through the reservation line and that's who they would tell you to speak with or theyd call themselves and be told the same thing they're telling you. If you've spoken with them and they won't change it then that's that. You booked it that way to adhere to the guidelines of the BB. Taking your husband off would mean you no longer qualify for that discount.

There is a small possibility that your brother could check in being another adult on the reservation, but since this particular offer does have restrictions I might have him book a reservation for himself if your DH is not able to go to avoid being pushed to rack rate at check in.

They're pretty strict about discounts with restrictions.
 
There is no way to change the name of the lead guest on a reservation. I've had a reservation messed up before, and even though I made the reservation, someone else's name was put on as the lead. There was no way to change it.

If your husband does not go along, you will not qualify for the discount on the second room. And in my experiences they ask for ID at check in.

I'd tell DH he has to go!
 

i really dont know the answer to this but i will say that I do not ever recall being asked for id at check in. i could be wrong and i do realize they tell you to have it.

i would either book the 2nd room under another discount if there is one for the dates or take the risk and be ready for rack rate at check in.

i would take the risk personally but that's your decision. :)

I had figured it wouldn't work to change the lead guest, but wanted to check with the experts! Wanted to save myself time on the phone tomorrow trying to (hopefully) book FD for my brother.

P.S. - Is there any way to change a title of the thread? So embarrassed by my typo... :headache:
