Has anyone been here to do this dolphin encounter? If so, here is my question: I know you can't bring your camera into the Dolphin encounter b/c they want to sell you their photos (and I know they are expensive and that you can try to negotiate). However, can you bring your camera throughout the rest of the park? Assuming we spend some extra hours there snorkeling, hanging at the beach, watching the sea lion show, etc, can I use my personal camera for that? THANKS!

We just did Chankanaab this past Dec. when on the Fantasy. We didn't go thru the cruise line. We didn't do the Dolphin Encounter. We just winged it! The Taxi was $12 (plus tip) for four of us. Admission was approx $20 (minus $2 with a coupon from their website) and we rented snorkel gear for $10 from shack 3 (told them about a $10 special! saved $5 a person!). And it wasn't crowed all day. We practically had the pool to ourselves.

As for cameras, we used ours a ton! We even had employees take pics of us while using the pool and other areas of the park. I even took pics of the dolphins even though we didn't do the dolphin encounter. We took pics of the Sea Lion encounter during and after the show. No one stopped us!

We did the dolphin encounter at Chankanaab and then hung out at the park afterwards. You can use your camera once you are done with the dolphins.
