Plan on doing a dolphin swim in Cozumel. Undecided between Chankanaab or Dolphinaris

Can anyone who has done either of these please let me know your experience and if you did the swim or only the encounter.

ALSO...After the swim, what does the park offer.

Thanks

About 20 families or so of us from our cruise in Sept are all booked for the Dolphin Encounter at Chankanaab.
I booked directly through them and they have been great with answering questions and emails.

when you book 4 or more in your party for this, the cab fare is in included. and my 5 yr old is free too. :)

We plan to go early and use their beach facilities.

That was a question I emailed them about..We can spend the Entire day there?

If so, This is the one for Us...

Thank You

Yes, you can spend the entire day at Chankanab! :thumbsup2 It's a lovely place and my Royal Swim there was the treat of a lifetime.

(Sorry, don't know anything about the other facility)

.

Dolphinarius is just dolphin pools. It does not offer anything else after your encounter. Chankanaab, on the other hand, has a swimming pool, a snorkeling lagoon, access to the ocean to snorkel, botatnical gardens, replica ruins and restaurants. The park was very clean and beautiful. We enjoyed it very much. And the dolphin encounter was terriffic.

Does anyone know if you can take your camera for the DE? or do you have to buy their pictures?

Here's a partial picture of the pool. It is pretty big with a nice shallow platform in the middle. My DD loved it. There are also chairs and tables around it.

Yes, the restarant is very near the beach. However, at Chankanaab, there is no beach front to the ocean per se. It is very rocky and you actually need to enter the ocean from stairs. Make sure you wear water shoes.

Yes, we took a disposable waterproof camera. It worked out great. Here is a picture taken from the encounter. They have professional photographers who will video and photograph your session. They will take photos of you kissing and shaking fins with the dolphins that you may not be able to get with your camera. The pictures were nice. If you have a person in your party not participating, they can stand on the sidelines and take photographs as well.

OK I'm sold...I'm there!

Now I just have to decide whether to do it on my own or through DCL

I know DCL only offers the Encounter, The Swim is extra.. Thats what all of us want to do...

If we Book 10 people, we also get 10% off directly from Dolphin Encounter..

From what I have researched Today,

DVD is $50.00, Photos are about $13.00 -$15.00

You can not haggle the DVD price, but you can haggle the picture price.

Oh $50 not bad...So if you get another 2 or pics with it it should be under $100.

Another question...Is the DVD per person or do they do your entire group? Meaning if my DD and DH do it, do I have to purchase 2 DVD's or since they are in one group they will be on one DVD.

The DVD is of the Entire Group. So that would be the 10 of Us...
